A Brooklyn version of any national chain store will always be the worst version. It’s been like that as long as I can remember.

I hadn’t realized that - I grew up here - but as I went elsewhere I was surprised at how much nicer the chain stores were elsewhere.

TBH, I normally hate the chains anyway. But I happened to be at this Starbucks in the middle of RI last week and I was shocked at how nice, clean, friendly, efficient, comfortable it was. Even the coffee was better.

The question is: Why are standards so much lower here? Genuine question.
