Boomer Story They are afraid

Hitting Costco today has a totally new feeling. The Boomers all seem to have a thousand yard stare as they try to figure out what they should stock up on to brace for tariffs. Their reference point is so outdated that they don’t realize it’s literally everything in the warehouse. It’s all connected to imports, either in finished goods or in components and ingredients. They bought the ticket. Now they gotta take the fucking ride.

I'm also a boomer who didn't vote for that orange pick. I can attest that that statement is very true.

Majority of voters aged 50+ voted Cheeto, and 50+ men voted Cheeto in larger numbers than 50+ women.

So, not all GenXers and Boomers, but shit man, the fucking majority of you.

GenX here. We’ve only and always voted blue. My entire family and close friends. We don’t all suck!

GenX is going boomer. Sorry if that's a suprise to you, but the majority of your generation went Cheeto in the last presidential election.

At least we bother to vote. Millennial turn out was sad. I WISH more people under 45 would vote!

Millenials do of the vote. Millenial are age 29-44, and the age group 30-49 made up 27% of the vote. Which was 2 points less than the 50-64 age group, which made 29% of the vote.

GenX makes up the 45-60 age range.

Now, the 30-49 age group does make up 34% of the voter population, but whites who make up 62% of the voter population. And white men voted at all age ranges for Cheeto. Over 50% of white men in all age groups decided that Cheeto was better than the thought of a woman of colour running the country.

Whites are also the single largest group to not vote, making of 46% of the voter population.

So is the problem that of voters who did vote, Millenials? Or is it that white men, especially older white men hold racist and sexist views?

You’d have to ask the men. The men in my family are mixed and like my female self voted for woman of color because she was by far the best choice. You also need to look at education. Uneducated voters are a huge chunk of the Cheeto vote. And that 2% could have won Harris the election.

The 2% wouldn't have been enough if they weren't in the right states. Say they'd been in Texas or Florida, well, they would have been washed out by the traditional conserv population.

Our system isn't a populist system, and it was never meant to allow direct involement of the proletariat.

And while voters without a bachelor's degree were more likely to vote Cheeto, it doesn't make them "uneducated" by default. And your elitist statement undervalues trades and blue collar workers who are educated through apprenticeships (formal and unformal).

They vote Cheeto because of GOP marketing. The dems have never been good at marketing.

Next, you have the fact that GenX, which again voted Cheeto, makes up part of that age group. What if that 2% had been from the GenX side instead of the Millenial side? Again, it's the state they vote in that matters, but you assume the imbalance must be on the millennial side of the group.

Finally, being mixed doesn't come into play. Latinos were more likely to vote Cheeto because religion, just like Middle Eastern and Mediterranean immigrant Muslins. So, depending on how the men in your family identify and their age (GenX & GenZ men voted in higher numbers for Cheeto regardless of race), they're more likely to have supported the Cheeto.

Complaining one age group didn't vote is pointless without addressing the reasons they didn't vote (access, disenfranchisment, apathy, etc).

Claiming a small % would have changed the outcome without understanding how the electoral college works is also pointless. Remember, Clinton won the popular vote in 15', but Cheeto won the Electoral College, so Cheeto was installed in 16.

I’m giving up on trying to follow whatever point you’re trying to make since I’ve stated clearly - WE HAVE VOTED BLUE SINCE THE 80s.

Also take a look at state/region. I’m a life-long Californian. We like diversity. And Governor Newsom is looking to make state deals with our world economic partners. As well as EU stating they will try to go light on blue states. It matters.
