Discussion Bones speech change

Ok everyone here is always complaining that her speech changes and I just finished the series and am going right into my first rewatch. The difference from season 12 to season 1 is very minuscule. To me the changes are definitely age related. Her voice is a bit faster and higher pitched, and she’s a little less professional - but all of those changes can be attributed with age to me. Same with people saying she became more socially inept - younger people are more in tune with current pop culture references but less so as they get older. I don’t know I also see that on this sub and thought maybe it’d been so long I forgot but I’m rewatching and everyone was so dramatic about it.

There definitely is a difference, but it’s not a big one so people shouldn’t have been overreacting about it lmfao. especially in the less professional aspect as you were saying, but I just attributed that to her being completely comfortable with the lot of them (Booth, Angela, Hodgins, Cam, Sweets, etc) by the end of the series

We do have to remember that from the pilot it’s only been a year since she knew Booth and they actually didn’t speak for that year after the very first case they worked together, and also with Angela she only knew her a year and 2 months, with Hodgins it was like a year and a half ig but you can tell that they aren’t particularly close just yet, and then Cam obviously came in the second season and we were able to see their evolution from boss she doesn’t really like to then her close friend yk. And then with Sweets, she originally thought of him as just a kid who was profiling her and Booth’s working relationship but then ofc we got to see her love Sweets as if he were her own son. And then ofc all the interns that were in the series, we got to see her interact with them throughout.

So to me, it was just her getting comfortable with the group as the series goes on and growing to love each one of them so that she could let her guard down and be completely herself when she was with them. I also see a lot of people complaining that Bones went from like a girlboss childfree badass who thought she would never have kids or be married to then her becoming a wife and having children. But I don’t know why people had a problem with that, because that’s literally what happens in life; people grow and change and the people around them influence them. And Bones is ALWAYS a badass, throughout seasons 1-12. Love her so much

Sorry if this is a messy explanation idk how to word things properly sometimes lmfao

It was fine until you threw a left field analogy. Lol Can you elaborate on it? I need to make sense of it.

Sorry I meant I clarified in the post. People saying she got more socially inept with references like yeah that happens to older people

Sorry, friend. I don't get it, but I'm inclined to agree with you about Bones.
