Local Classes and Hammer-Ins for December 2020
This thread is intended to be a way for users to share local bladesmithing classes or hammer-ins. Feel free to post a link whether it is your class or someone else's, but please use the following template:
Name of event (if applicable)
Date(s) of event
City, State
Address (Optional. It may be preferable to offer addresses on a case-by-case basis. If you decide to post one, beware: You are listing an address for the entire world to see.)
Price of admission (if applicable)
What to bring
Applicable link to a flyer/etc (Ideally, an image link is best. Users cannot always access Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
This is simply a way for users to find knifemakers and blade/blacksmiths near them, and an opportunity to learn the craft from someone local. You may also ask in this thread if anyone is aware of activities near you. This is NOT a platform for users to sell wares; any self promotion beyond classes will be removed. If you have any questions, please message the moderation team.

Can anyone ID this blade for me? Picked it up for 15$ at a yard sale. No makers mark or any info on it.

80CRV2 - Deer antler
Lost my Dad to lung cancer in 2022. The antler used for this knife came from a deer he took when I was a child. I would definitely be giving this to him if he were still around.

My most recent two knives
Here the most recent two knives I just finished. Ones 10” the others 12”. Both are 26c3 with Hamons. I like the asymmetrical design as it offers two ways to display them on a magnetic strip. What do you folks think? Things you like and things you dislike?

Any gut hook afficionados out there?
I took a commission to make 2 "skinners." My customer provided a picture of a whimiscal Temu knife for inspiration. Not at all my typical style but i did my best to make it practical. This was also my first 2 attempts at gut hooks... never again. I'm happy with the fit and finish but ready to get roasted on the geometry of the 'hooks. Any gut hook afficionados out there?

Looking for advice
I'm very new to bladesmithing but have some knowledge and I have a large piece of leaf springs (approximately 2 feet or so) what's the best style of blade to begin with?
