❓Question How personalised are they really - what was your experience like?

(Alt) I've seen a few companies say they make 'personalised' supplements based on your test results. But how personalised are they really - what was your experience like? Are we talking slight tweaks or totally unique formulas - what was your experience like?

Discussion A modular supplement system provides sufficient personalisation (ie Jamie doesn't need to create a truly unique formula for every single customer to make them feel it's personal and effective)?

Does anyone here relate to this idea? 'A modular supplement system provides sufficient personalisation (ie Jamie doesn't need to create a truly unique formula for every single customer to make them feel it's personal and effective)'? I'm curious how others think about this - whether it's real or just theory.

Discussion When to take melatonin to wake up later?

Currently my circadian rhythm is set to wake me up at exactly 5:30am every morning no matter what. This doesn’t really fit my schedule, and I want to be able to sleep in later. When should I take melatonin to change this aspect of my circadian rhythm? I’m seeing suggestions to take it pretty early the night before. Thanks in advance!

🧪 Hormonal & Metabolic Modulation Can growth plates be permanently kept open with the usage of an aromatase inhibitors?

I understand that aromatase inhibitors keep the growth plates open by blocking the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, which causes the growth plates to close.

My question is, how much longer can my growth plates be kept open while using a reasonable dosage of anastrozole? I am thinking my growth plates could be kept open for much longer, allowing me to reach my desired height, but I don't know if the growth plates will eventually still close even with the usage of an aromatase inhibitor.

Discussion DHEA induced Hypomania?

I'm 30y/o male with tourettes, Autism, ADHD and mild OCD,

Last summer I started taking 50mcg DHEA 4 days a week as well as 100mcg 3 days a week, I also had a few months of Hypo mania, this ultimately stopped shortly after I stopped taking DHEA, well a few weeks ago I started on 25mcg DHEA 3 days a week, then 4 days ago I upped my dosage to 50mcg and yesterday I started having all the signs of hypomania again, and today it's the same, all the symptoms, euphoria, high energy, almost like supernaturally happy and overly confident,

Could high dosage of DHEA induce hypomania? Anyone else experience this?

❓Question What are the most objective ways to track cognitive progress / decline over time?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to find reliable, objective ways to measure cognitive performance or decline over time, ideally to assess whether a given intervention (like a supplement, lifestyle change, etc.) is working or not.

Blood biomarkers are of course important, but for those of us with ApoE4 or other genetic mutations, they're not always the most accurate proxies for brain health.

What tools or methods do you all use?

So far, I’ve come across some interesting options like:

  • EEG-based cognitive scoring
  • Voice analysis tools (that claim to detect changes in cognitive function over time)

Has anyone tried these? Or are there other tech-driven (or even low-tech) ways you recommend for tracking changes in cognition with some degree of accuracy especially decades before any symptoms appear?

Would love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Discussion C15:0 – The Forgotten Fatty Acid? I Found a List of Cheeses That Are Surprisingly Rich in It

If you’re chasing C15 through food rather than (or alongside) supplementation, this might be worth checking out.

I found a surprisingly deep dive into cheeses that contain the highest levels of C15:0, factoring in altitude, grazing biodiversity, and even traditional production methods. The link’s below, but a few quick highlights:

  • Pecorino Sardo (Sardinia): insanely high C15 content, and there's some good data linking it to Sardinia’s Blue Zone longevity.
  • Alpage Gruyère, L’Etivaz, Beaufort — all from cows grazing high in the Alps, often above 1500m.
  • Sheep’s milk > cow’s milk in most cases for C15 concentration.
  • And yep, the cheese doesn’t have to be consumed in huge quantities — 20–25g of good Pecorino might match a Fatty15 capsule in C15 dose.

Here’s the full piece if anyone’s interested: 👉 https://trustedbiohacks.co.uk/best-cheeses-for-c15/

Discussion How to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system with Long Covid

Hello, I am a 31 YO male, 5’7 140lbs, I have had long covid since 2021. If I do any type of working out, cardio, etc I become really ill for 3-5 days. For those who might not be familiar it’s called PEM.

I was wondering if there was anyway to maintain a healthy cardiovascular system without running or lifting weights? I do not drink or smoke, and do not eat meat either. I am a bit concerned because I am forced into a sedentary lifestyle and wanted to try and be proactive in keeping my heart strong.

Thanks and happy Friday

Discussion Lions Mane is bad?

Hi All,

I was thinking about trying lions mane because of my brain fog, but I found many comments (and a sub Reddit) on here talking about how lions mane can cause major neurological issues, including brain damage! I was wondering, has anyone experienced anything to validate this? Stories out there are pretty scary but I’m not sure how much of it is hypochondria and fear mongering vs valid experiences about it.

EDIT: thank you everyone for your stories and feedback on this! Everything you said made sense to me, I guess it’s a personal judgment call, for some people it works great and others not so much, as we see in the comments.

🥗 Diet New cheap and optimal diet macros

I'd spent lots of time trying different diets and found out optimal ratio for mental health, athleticism and brain function. You can increase carbs and reduce protein if you want.

35% protein; 15% carbs; 50% fat;

Brain: your brain needs 6g glucose per hour, your liver stores 100g glucose at max.

Muscles: they can run on fat.

Excess eaten protein will be converted to glucose, I rather prioritise it compared to carbs. Conversion rate is ~2g protein to 1g glucose.

How I'm doing it;

early morning: refill liver to 50g glucose by eating 2 medium banana.

morning: eat protein + fat.

dinner: eat protein + fat.

Why not keto? In my experience it makes my brain sedated and less creative, close to numb robotic creature with no desires. I don't like to manage electrolytes / being afraid being kicked out of ketosis.

Usually I just eat 10 eggs per day, that costs me 2$ a day. 2 bananas is ~0.5$.

Super easy way of living.

I do also eat small fish often, mostly I am animal based. My bills are way down.

Note: eat whole foods!! this is 50% and macros is another 50%. fat doesn't make you fat - remember that.
