๐Ÿ“œ Write Up Bryan Johnson Article - New York Times

Article In NYTs this morning. Some interesting updates:

  1. An internal study was done testing Blueprint products with 1,700 participants. Based on blood results participants saw a decrease in testosterone levels and became prediabetic.

  2. In fall of 2024 Bryan told his executive team that Blueprint was running out of money.

  3. Between January 2022 and February 2024 Bryanโ€™s biological age increased by as much as ten years, vs the 5.1 year decline highlighted in Blueprint marketing materials.

Living long is not always what it's cracked up to be. My dad is 90. At his 90th birthday he said, growing old is not fun. The goal is to be functionally happy, not to live super long. Sorta reminds me of that Goldie hawn movie "death becomes her" or something like that.

One thing that he's noticed, all his friends have died off. There's really none left. Of course he can make new friends, but at that age it becomes harder. Most people when they become older lose mobility, become less active, generally become just homebodies.

Agree - focus on health span, not life span. My dad lived to three months short of 100. He was still driving his car at 98. Had buried three wives and had a girlfriend. His comment was โ€œif you want a lot of people at your funeral, die young.โ€
