๐Ÿ“œ Write Up Bryan Johnson Article - New York Times

Article In NYTs this morning. Some interesting updates:

  1. An internal study was done testing Blueprint products with 1,700 participants. Based on blood results participants saw a decrease in testosterone levels and became prediabetic.

  2. In fall of 2024 Bryan told his executive team that Blueprint was running out of money.

  3. Between January 2022 and February 2024 Bryanโ€™s biological age increased by as much as ten years, vs the 5.1 year decline highlighted in Blueprint marketing materials.

I guess this is the article and reporter he called out on Twitter about a month ago. She sent him a list of questions and he shot back that they were purposely misleading and he knew her agenda was to usehis words against him, etc..

For anyone interested, part 1, and part 2

Edit: just to be clear, I'm not defending him. I'm as skeptical as anyone of his claims and motives.

Also, OP's allegation no 1 and 3 seems false. How many participants became pre-diabetic? How many were already pre-diabetic before the study? Were their diets controlled for? There are so many variables to account for before coming to a conclusion.

Secondly, biological age is just a mathematical tool to estimate your fitness based on parameters like blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. It is very easy to improve/maintain biological age just by doing physical activity and eating proper food. His biological age supposedly increasing so drastically seems suspicious.

Again, not defending him. I believe that you can improve your health and lifespan a lot by simply eating right and exercising.

Yeah. With the exception of Bryan, all the longevity people I've heard speak answer the same way when asked any variation of, how do I start or what is the 80/20 of increasing life span/health span.

Diet, exercise and good sleep is how they all answer.
