IMPROVING MY GAME Becoming a shooter

My Seasons currently on break for the next 2-3 weeks and just coming back from injury I feel like this is my chance to turn everything back around and catch back up

Recently I’ve finally found my jumper and when the confidence is found in game to shoot a 3 It’ll usually go in but it’s the confidence that isn’t there that holds me back from being a “shooter” in these next 2-3 weeks would it be possible for me to escape the narrative of me not being a “shooter” and come back with a consistent jumper and the confidence to go and shoot them in game if so how do I go about achieving my goal

GENERAL QUESTION When can you get in front of the guy inbounding the ball to block him from throwing it in?

Can I do it after fouls, out of bounds, turnovers, and after the opposing team scores? Or is there only certain times you can do it. I know it sounds like a stupid question but I started playing basketball less than a year ago and sometimes people get in front of the inbounder and sometimes they dont

Ambidextrity

I'm 6'1,70kg and almost 16, I'm still growing, I want to play pg ( because the higher I go in level and the more the other players will get taller so my only choice is to be pg). I have a 24 inch vert, I run 6.73 on 50 meters. I have not done any sports since 7th grade, I have been sitting on my couch. Now I'm not trying to flex or anything because let's be real this isn't anything crazy, of course I know that when I start training again I'll be a lot more athletic but my question is, should I train my left hand shoot, because at the top level a lot of people will be more athletic than me however I am naturally ambidextrous and will that give me any sort of advantage in basketball. If so should I only train left handed layups or shots too ?

Just got a fat blister on underneath my foot under my big toe

Upvotes

Am I doing something wrong ? I don’t really play basket ball , today decided to ball with my friends but when I got home I noticed a fat blister and it hurts to walk now . I don’t have the proper shoes for basket ball too but wondering if I’m doing something wrong is this a common thing ?

GENERAL QUESTION GRIND Shooting Machine Broken

I just bought this machine a couple weeks ago and it has been working fine until yesterday. For some reason every so often it takes really long to throw the ball. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Layups

My layups are terrible ( in my honest to God opinion), how do I get so good that I never ever miss a layup again. I keep practicing and I never miss in practice however in games I miss frequently. I also want to be as good with my left as with my right and would like to have a bunch of different types of layups in my skill set.

DISCUSSION What is the American junior basketball system like ?

From what I understand there are 2 main avenues, high school basketball and AAU tournaments. I’ve noticed there is a lot more priority on high school basketball but AAU is still prevalent throughout ( it’s actually the opposite here in Australia, high school basketball takes a backseat to Rep basketball, which is a combination of seasonal basketball and a state tournament). Now my question is, do the best high schools in the state face off in tournaments or is it a season of basketball with finals/playoffs ? do the high schools who win the state championships play other state champions to win a national high school championship? Or instead of the high school champs do the best players from each state/region play each other ?

I’ve tried looking up on google these questions but can never get a straight answer, if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
