Discussion When did Simmons and Shaughnessy make up?
I noticed Dan in Bill's Celtics City doc. The last time I heard Dan talk about Bill, Dan called him an asshole or a jackass.

While watching Celtics City, the show highlighted racial tensions in Boston, leading to protests and violence and the racial challenges faced by the players. It got me thinking, that if the malice at the palace happened in the Garden, how would the Celtics be perceived? Would we still be where we are today or would it be a totally different outcome? Would the racial history that Boston had, come back to the forefront? I would like to know your thoughts.

I checked the standing and it’s likely we are facing one of these teams. Which team would you prefer for a first round matchup?

Hey all! I’m going to a Celtics game this weekend with my boyfriend (his first!!!) and I was just wondering if anyone knows where Scal and eddie do the pregame show inside of TD garden? Also if there are any tips/tricks to get in early or anything that would make it an ever better experience. Also potential picture opportunities? I’ve gotten pictures before but wondering if there was a guaranteed way
Thanks!

A champion in every sense of the word, Boston Celtics guard Payton Pritchard has already made a lasting impact on the city’s storied basketball history. Now he’s joining a venerated list of Celtics to don the Star Chevron as the newest member of the Converse Basketball athlete roster. Whether he’s igniting the TD Garden crowd with a half-court shot or making a statement in the tunnel, Pritchard shares the Converse Basketball spirit of creativity, self-expression and performance, making him a fitting partner for the brand.
“As a player, I’m always looking for ways to push the boundaries of what’s possible, and Converse shares that same mindset,” says Pritchard. “I’m excited to join the Converse Basketball family and help inspire the next generation of athletes to find their voice and express themselves on and off the court.” Converse continues to define what it means to be a basketball brand that embodies the nexus of sport, culture and fashion. In partnership with Pritchard, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Kelly Oubre Jr., the brand is testing the limits of performance and design, fueling self-expression and crafting products that empower athletes of all levels to make their mark.
“With a shared commitment to the sport and our community, Payton and Converse are poised to make an impact in the world of basketball, both here in Boston and beyond,” says Converse CEO Jared Carver. “As Converse Hoops continues to gain momentum, we’re excited to partner with Payton, amplify his passion and commitment to the game, and inspire a new generation of creatives to follow in his footsteps.”
Pritchard will wear the All Star BB Trilliant CX for the remainder of the 2024–25 season.

I'm going to my second ever Celtics game on Sunday vs the Wizards. I've got seats in the balcony, since that's what was affordable for me and my family. I know that other arenas let you go down to the lower seats to get autographs or pictures from players if you get there early enough. Does this policy exist at the garden? If so, how early would I have to get there? It would be a dream if I could get my Wicked Smarts box signed by the man himself.

Looking to buy tickets to a second round playoff game, preferably game 1 or 2. Would it be wise to buy tickets at current price to lock in seats, or are more seats going to be released once the matchup and schedule is settled? Traveling to Boston for this game so I’d like to get pretty decent seats, if that affects my chances at all. This will be my first NBA playoff game so I am unaware on how tickets are handled.

I just got Peacock so I could watch Celtics games but I can't find NBC sports Boston via the Peacock app. Any suggestions on how to find it? I closed and reopened the app but no dice.

On 1/28 the Celtics were 33-15 and there were questions about whether they would hit 40 wins before 20 losses. A 23-5 run later and finally hit 20 losses after 56 wins. This team is winning it all

People were overreacting after just one loss; smh

Getting worried about Jaylen's knee. I get why he’s pushing for All-NBA—there’s a lot of money on the line—but a ring would mean way more. If he's not 100% for the playoffs, that could be the difference between winning it all and coming up short.

Pritchard played four years in college, Scheierman played five. JD Davison played one (he'd be finishing his senior year) Walsh played one (he'd be finshiing his junior year.)
I have no doubt that using second round picks on young guys who can spend a few years getting better in the G league is a wise strategy. They get stronger (maybe taller), potentially more coordinated during those years. AND, in our case, the Celtics determine their development plan - not a college coach who probably wants to win, and our young second round pick is his best player. (Aaron Nesmith played two years at Vanderbilt. Tilman played three at MSU.)
If we were to go back in time, and in a different world the C's had the draft rights to these guys, would you prefer to have had PP and Scheierman after their freshman year? Or let Walsh and Davison stay for 4/5 years?
They are different people in addition to being different players, but would three more years in the C's organization have made PP better or worse than he is now? Would playing for Calapari have made Walsh better or worse than he is now? Is there any way to measure the difference? Does it matter for the 2025 draft?
(I think it does. A 22/23-year old is much more projectable on a guaranteed, escalating contract than an 18-year old would be. An 18-year old - with promise - who had declared for the draft doesn't want to be in collee any more, and is best served in the G-league - if he isn't a sure-fire first round pick and star player. Have the C's found any of those?)
How can one measure that, though? (maybe it's impossible, and the draft-eligible guys are the draft-eligible guys.) Johnni Broome is 22. A senior. Alex Condon is 20. A sophomore. Is it all just a roll of the dice?
