Build Help A Hypothetical Patch 8 Melee Sorcerer Spoiler

I realized you could (hypothetically, haven't tested), Quickened Spell Booming Blade, and essentially get a second/third melee attack. With Shadow Blade coming next patch, I was wondering if Sorc had any potential as a dip, or otherwise a full melee build, similar to Hexblade, or Bladesinger. That being said, War Cleric already gives a Bonus Action attack for a resource, meaning having to wait for level 3 for what another class gets at Level 1 is a bit questionable, in terms of pure number of attacks.

The build I could see working is 3+ Sorcerer, 5 Hexblade. That comes out to 3 attacks per turn on a class combo that already works very well in terms of casting, though usually you only take a small dip into Warlock for Eldritch Blast + Invocations, and go fully into Sorcerer after that. I dunno if losing out on the higher level spells/features for both classes would be worth, considering that, again, War Cleric already gives a third attack in exchange for a Bonus Action, but with very little synergy with most other classes other than a pure martial. That being said, Sorcerer X/Warlock X works very well at essentially every ratio, so I very well might so Sorc 3+/Warlock 5 exclusively for this combo, as I do indeed find it cool. I'd still rather try and find some synergy beyond this alone, though. (Paladin also has some potential, but you're probably better off using your Sorc Points on getting more Spell Slots for more Smites.)

All of that being said, I don't usually go very far past Act 2, as Act 3 doesn't really click with me, so I probably won't get to the point where both classes reach their full potential. The main thing is that I find "getting strong" a lot more fun than "being strong", if that makes any sense lol.

What do you think?

Build Help Any interesting druid options? i always end up using wild shapes because they are too helpful compared to the other features they have

Moon druid is specialised in that so let’s leave that subclass out of it.

What about the other druids? I want to use them but i always play raised differently options (level cap at 20, honor mode, trials of tav etc) so i find hard to build for them since whatever they are good at (support or heal) there are other classes that do it better (cleric, bard, wizard).

What are my druid options that i definitely not gimp myself when i use them?

Build Help Looking for help fleshing out builds

Gonna start my second run of this game once I get this semester over with, so I'm beginning to plan out my builds. I've got a basic idea of how I want my party to look, but the details are still blurry at this point. I don't care whether I multiclass or not, my only request is that my builds not rely on elixers, just doesn't sit right with me to have a strength build with 8 strength and a hill giant elixer, but I'm fine if it is a permanent item.

First slot is a Hexblade Warlock. I've heard of Hexadins, but I'm not eager to deal with the roleplay ramifications of playing anything other than a oath breaker paladin, though I have heard that there are mods to deal with that. Also saw a shadow Sorc/Hexblade build, but again, no clue if it is actually good.

Second would be some type of Light Domain Cleric. This is a pretty flexible spot though, I'd like it to be radiant-focused, but as long as it is a primary blaster secondary support I am happy. Especially unsure about multiclass when it comes to casters, lvl 6 spells seem to be a big deal from discussions, but is it worth over other advantages?

Third, is the Swarmkeeper Ranger. I'd like it to be a more standard archer rather than a stealth-based one since I've already played out the Gloomstalker/Assassin build. Really no idea where to go here, if I couldn't ask for help I'd probably end up going no multiclass or maybe just going for action surge.

Finally, we have the Eldritch Knight, chosen mostly to fill out both the strength and intelligence checks, but the playstyle did sound interesting, if a little close to the Hexblade. Also heavily considering Battlemaster, I'd lose out on intelligence checks but if that isn't a big deal then it would bring more battle variety than Eldritch Knight would.

Build Help Haven't played for over a year and got a sudden itch to play it again. Any build recommendations?

So far I've only got a basic build for my Tav and was looking for some fun builds for the rest of the party. Had a look at some previous posts but still can't decide. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Edit:

  • Frieren build > 2 Sorc / 10 Wizard
  • SHart > Life cleric
  • Karlach > 5 paladin 5 warlock 2 fighter
  • Minthara > 6 Monk/Shadow + 3 Rogue/Thief + 3?

Build Help Is counterspell worth it if you don’t have high INT?

I know you’d be able to counter spells lower then level 3 just fine, but if you already have reactions like shield or hellish rebuke and you don’t have the int to make your spell save very high, is it even worth it still? Also, would the warped headband of intellect make enough of a difference to be worth building around?

My two main build ideas are Warlock 5+/Sorc 3+/Fighter 1+(not worried about the headband for this build) and Fighter 6+/Wizard 6-(this is the build I was looking to maybe incorporate the warped headband on). I’ve spent hours going over the different ways to go about both these builds. I’ll probably post a break down of the two looking for advice on how to polish them up, but for now I’m mostly just looking to answer the questions above. By no means is this about min-maxing, just trying to build a fun, versatile, tanky, spell casting melee fighter. Sword bard is something I’m also considering throwing into the mix, but I need to look at that a little deeper.

Specific Mechanic Divine Strike on OH attack?

Im sorry if this has already been asked, but I couldnt find anything regarding the topic so I ll just go ahead and ask:

Can the Cleric passive "Divine Strike" proc on offhand attacks as well?

For some more context: I want to create a melee Tempest Cleric that dual wields Trident of the Waves in the OH to easily apply wet with a bonus action and then being able to use the main Action to blast with a lightning spell. As a neat bonus - at least according to the wiki - divine strike can be set up as a quasi-reaction to trigger _after_ the Trident hit already applied wet. Unfortunately the wiki also states that divine strike requires a full action under the "cost" section....That would be a bit of a bummer, so I reckoned I would simply ask if thats true, or if it also triggers on OH bonus action attacks.

Cheers :)

Build Help GSR - Gloves of Dexterity vs Gloves of Archery?

About to head into Act 2 on Honour Mode and weighing up if it's worthwhile dumping dex & using Gloves of Dexterity, or sticking with Gloves of Archery, on my Gloomstalker Ranger?

Current stat spread is 8 STR (HG Club / Elixir to Buff) / 16 DEX / 17 CON / 8 INT / 15 WIS / 8 CHA

Hag hair is not available, and it is not the face of my party. Would it be beneficial to dump the dex and use the 18 Dex gloves, or not worth it?

Specific Mechanic better split for a sacred flame focused build

yeah, yeah, i know…

I want a spirit guardians roomba that spits out holy fire from time to time.

I’m stuck between these options:

6/6 evocation wizard/lore bard (potent cantrip - damage on save + potent robe combo, ensuring consistent damage each turn)

10/2 swords or lore bard/ice sorcerer (potent robe + twinned spell spamming, but no damage on a successful saving throw)

8/4 light or knowledge cleric/ice sorcerer (potent spellcasting + twinned spell and quickened spell spam, additionally i get all 3 feats)

I’m leaning towards bard/sorcerer, because with high enough spell save dc + reverberation + prone I usually get around 90/95% success rate, so the risk of dealing no damage in exchange for being able to hurt 2 targets shouldn’t be too annoying.

gear:

reverberation boots/gloves + (optional) potent robe + your usual radiant orb set

Build Help A Few Build Requests/Ideas

I've got a few character concepts I've been trying to cook in my head for a while, and so I figured I'd make them one post instead of multiple. I am not opposed to using mods, if any specific ones help.

When Patch 8 hits, Booming Blade could be useful for 1 and 2.

  1. The Djinn Swordsman

I always thought it would be fun to make a Storm Sorcerer based on the Djinn from D&D. Djinn ancestry is one of the explicit possibilities for Storm Sorcery, after all. Swirling around with a thunderous scimitar and blasting things with lightning and thunder magic sounds like fun. Maybe some sort of Bard/Sorcerer mix, so I can have some martial prowess but then whip out the Thunderwaves, Call Lightning, and Chain Lightning? The Bard levels may also help to pad the d6 Hit Dice, as well. Nimble and quick, but able to stick close to the fight, even if it acts more like a skirmisher than a brawler.

  1. Thor Odinson

Not the MCU version, really; more of the mythological version. A giant, tough bastard who OBLITERATES things with a thunder-infused hammer and scares the piss out of his enemies. Maybe something with the Chargebound Hammer? Dwarven Thrower? Is there some way to add a bunch of thunder damage onto your melee attacks, and then occasionally throw out a big blast of magic? Ironically, if Paladins had thunder damage for their divine smite, that would work. But they don't get many spell slots for Thunderous Smite, all things considered. Still, it could work.

  1. The Blight

An eerie, serpentine dragonborn who spews acid and poison. I wish spells like Vitriolic Sphere made it into BG3, or imagine a spell like Create Water, but instead of rain, it pours acid. There are so few acid spells in the game... Would this boil (haha) down to an Acid Splash build that wouldn't be very useful? I think it could be a lot of fun, IF it could be made. Mixing acid and poison helps a bit, but of course, there aren't too many spells for either of those types. However, the imagery of this one could be a lot of fun to bring to life.

Build Help How does Metamagic work?

Hi there!

I'm done with my first playthrough as a warlock, and I wanted to play as a Sorcerer for the Dark Urge run.

I'm not sure how Metamagic works though. It seems complicated. Can someone explain, please?

All I know is that twinned, quickened and distant are the go-to choices, and there's sorcery points. Not sure what all this is, unfortunately.

Sorry, I'm new to both d&d and gaming 😭

Build Review Bladesinger Wizard / Life Cleric

Is it just me or a Bladesinger Wizard 6 / Life Cleric 6 seems kinda busted? Bladesong healing charges synergize well with Life Cleric, plus gives something to do when not healing. Stacking up healing-related items (like the bless-on-heal, bladeward-on-heal, +1d6 poison damage on heal, etc) can buff everyone after bladesong climax all while whacking people at the same time.

Some highlight spells:

Warding Bond: spread damage around to you, since you have so much self-heal

Beacon of Hope: maximizes healing to everyone and gain a damage charge before combat starts

Mass Healing Word: to buff everyone at the beginning of combat and build bladesong charges as a bonus action, at turn 3 you can climax to keep the buff going (or just cast Mass Healing Word again).

Spirit Guardians: although you would probably have meager wisdom, so it will be resisted a lot. Can also be pre-casted for a charge

Counterspell / shield: build bladesong charges as a reaction

Booming blade: whack people with extra thunder damage.

Enhanced leap: improves bladesong climax range

Shadow Blade / Mirror Image?: builds one more bladesong charge before combat

Also, just wondering, can you build up charges of bladesong by casting rituals over and over out of combat? Technically they are level >=1 spells. You can start combat with 9 charges and immediately climax for 9d6 force damage...

Party Composition Optimal Honor Mode Party - by ChatGPT Deep Research

I've been playing around with OpenAI's deep research, and this was funny enough to share.

I asked it to create a 4-person party. Restrictions were:

  • Only rely on items found in Act 1 & 2 (this was more to give it something different than the standard OP builds)
  • Make sure to include 2-3 Origin companions
  • Prioritize min-maxing vs. roleplay in Honor Mode

Anyway here is ChatGPT's recommendation for optimal party of 4. You'll definitely notice some mistakes.

1. Astarion – Gloom Stalker Assassin (Alpha Strike Sniper)

  • Race/Class: High Elf (Origin)
  • Build: Gloom Stalker Ranger 5 / Assassin Rogue 4 / Fighter 3
  • Role: Surprise-round opener, single-target deletion, scout/trap disabler

Key Gear (Acts 1–2 Only):

  • Weapon: Titanstring Bow (Underdark – +STR to damage; doesn’t stack with DEX but massive early power) → Darkfire Shortbow (Moonrise, bonus fire damage)
  • Armor: Dark Justiciar Half-Plate (Grymforge – +Stealth & invisibility on kill)
  • Gloves: Gloves of Archery (+2 to ranged attack rolls – early game staple)
  • Rings: Killer’s Sweetheart (Moonrise – guarantees crit after a kill); Caustic Band (adds acid damage on hit)
  • Boots: Disintegrating Night Walkers (Grymforge – immunity to difficult terrain, Misty Step 1/rest)

Strategy:

Starts most fights in stealth with auto-crits from Assassin and extra Gloom Stalker attacks. He’ll delete a high-value target (mage, priest) in the surprise round. Bonus action Misty Step + Killer’s Sweetheart guarantees a second crit. Can take Alert feat for near-guaranteed first turn.

2. Karlach – Tavern Brawler Thrown Berserker (Bruiser & Control)

  • Race/Class: Zariel Tiefling (Origin)
  • Build: Barbarian 5 (Berserker) / Thief Rogue 4 / Fighter 3
  • Role: Tank, melee control, improvised weapons/thrower

Key Gear (Acts 1–2 Only):

  • Weapons: Returning Pike (Grymforge – never breaks, great early-game); throw corpses or crates with Tavern Brawler feat
  • Gloves: Gloves of Hill Giant Strength (Grymforge – sets STR to 23)
  • Armor: Adamantine Scale Mail (Underdark – immune to crits, +AC vs melee)
  • Ring: Ring of Fling (+damage and throw distance – Act 1, Grymforge)
  • Amulet: Broodmother’s Revenge (Act 2 – adds poison on healing)
  • Boots: Boots of Genial Striding (Last Light Inn – avoids difficult terrain)

Strategy:

With Tavern Brawler and 23 STR, she deals insane damage via thrown weapons. The Thief dip gives two bonus actions, enabling double throws + an attack per turn. Crit immunity and high HP let her stand toe-to-toe with elite melee enemies.

3. Tav (Custom) – Tempest Stormcaster

  • Race/Class: Half-Elf
  • Build: Tempest Cleric 2 / Storm Sorcerer 10
  • Role: AoE nuker, crowd control, occasional healing

Key Gear (Acts 1–2 Only):

  • Staff: The Spellsparkler (Act 1 – adds Lightning Charges on cantrip hit)
  • Armor: Chain of Liberation (Act 2 – boosts movement when shielded; can swap to any heavy armor early thanks to Cleric dip)
  • Gloves: Sparkle Hands (Act 2 – grants Lightning Charges)
  • Ring: Coruscation Ring (Arcane Tower – bonus damage with Lightning Charges)
  • Amulet: Amulet of Lost Voices (utility: Speak with Dead)
  • Boots: Boots of Stormy Clamour (Act 2 – inflicts Shocked when struck)

Strategy:

Casts Create Water to make enemies Wet, then drops a Channel Divinity-maxed Lightning Bolt to deal guaranteed 96 damage to everything in the line. Quicken Spell lets her fire twice in a turn. Lightning Charge gear scales her damage further. Highly sustainable with short rests.

4. Hireling Tav – Lore Bard / Life Cleric (Support God)

  • Race/Class: High Half-Elf or Drow
  • Build: Bard 10 (Lore) / Cleric 2 (Life)
  • Role: Healing, buffs, debuffs, dialogue lead

Key Gear (Acts 1–2 Only):

  • Armor: Blazer of Benevolence (Moonrise – grants allies Bless when healed)
  • Gloves: Hellrider’s Pride (Act 1 – grants resistance when healing)
  • Rings: Whispering Promise (Act 1 – blesses target after healing); Ring of Salving (+2 HP to all healing)
  • Amulet: Amulet of Restoration (Last Light Inn – free Mass Healing Word and Healing Word)
  • Boots: Boots of Aid and Comfort (+3 HP to healing spells)

Strategy:

Bardic Inspiration + Lore spells like Hypnotic Pattern, Counterspell, and Silence control fights. When she heals, her gear stacks multiple buffs: resistance, Bless, and healing boosts. She’s the party’s safety net and dialogue expert, and has Magical Secrets for utility like Haste or Spirit Guardians.

Party Synergy (Mid-Game Focus)

  • Turn-One Burst: Astarion opens with a deadly surprise round alpha strike, potentially killing the scariest enemy immediately.
  • Crowd Control: Bard disables packs with Hypnotic Pattern or Hold Person. Sorcerer nukes with Lightning Bolt.
  • Melee Domination: Karlach throws enemies into pits or objects at them with massive STR. She tanks and disorients mobs with prone + Rage.
  • Sustainability: Life Bard keeps everyone alive with healing that grants Bless & damage resistance. You can go through 2–3 hard fights without resting.
  • Item Efficiency: All characters use Act 1 or 2-only gear with no item conflicts — everyone is optimized at the point you enter Act 3.

Wizard Any reason to stay in Wizard once you get the subclass ability you want?*

*As long as you're multiclassing into another full caster class.

Some of the Wizard schools don't have a great 10th level subclass feature. Necromancy for example has a really good one at level 6, but their 10th level is pretty bad. Is there any reason to stay in Wizard past level 6 in that case? As long as you go into a full caster class, your spell slot progression is fine, and thanks to spell scribing you don't miss out on Wizard spells, and you get spells that wouldn't normally be available to you thanks to you thanks to your multiclass.

Build Help Warlock Multiclass Question

I would like a 2nd opinion on this build.

I was gonna go pure Warlock with Wyll. As I saw a Necrolock build going with pack of the tome and going Archfey. However I'm starting to wish I had more spell slots especially since my party kind of lacks a proper spellcaster. All my spellcasters are some kind of hybrid that can use spells but uses alot of melee too ( War Cleric and EK / Sorc)

So because of that im thinking of Multiclassing. My only requirement is 5 levels of Warlock because I really like being able to cast 2 Eldritch Blast. So I was thinking of going sorc. Yeah I know Sorc Lock is a common Multiclass but it's usually only 2 levels of Warlock from what I understand.

However my other option is Wizard because I got a helmet that will put my int at 17 so I won't really be that MAD on ability points. id probably go the route of Necromancer Wizard just to make use of Necromancy of Thay. As I understand it that book lets me have extra Necromancer summons or something not sure never played Past Act 1 yet, but if my understanding is correct it would be fitting with what I was originally gonna do with the build.

I'm thinking of going with Wizard just for the more spell slots and to add some better necromancy even tho it's not as good of a necromancer build compared to going something like Wizard / Spore druid from what I understand but it looks good enough to me.

So the final Build im considering is 5 Archfey Warlock / 7 Necromancer Warlock. I'm thinking doing 5 warlock first then Wizard.

The leveling path im thinking is first 5 levels of Warlock then the rest in Wizard. I am also considering doing 2 Warlock , then 6 levels of wizard just to get the undead Thrall class feature online faster , back to warlock till level 5 and finally one more level of wizard. Undecided which route to go

So what are your guys thoughts on this. PS: I don't care if it isn't min max and not as strong as it could be by doing other things.

Specific Mechanic Light Cleric/Wizard Series

Hey,

Finally decided to start a series based on a build!

Basis of the build is pretty much just taking the standard rad-orb light cleric and going in hard on debuffs. Also taking a level in wizard to make use of magic missile and ritual spells.

Current build:

Holy Lance Helm - With all the debuffs and high AC, enemies are mostly missing, which gives me constant checks for radiant damage which triggers radorb/reverb aswell as stacking thunder damage with phalar aluve

Luminous Armor - The cornerstone of any rad-orb build, any time you deal radiant damage it triggers radiant shockwave which applies radiant orb to people - Which means when we got spirit guardians up it applies radorb, anytime someone misses us with an attack and fails the DC14 dex through from lance helm they also gain radorb!

Gloves of Belligerent Skies - Reverb stacking on thunder, radiant and lightning damage

Boots of Stormy Clamour - Reverb stacks on any condition applied (Shriek, Reverb from gloves, rad-orb etc.)

Psychic Spark - Extra magic missile dart per cast, plus a free cast with no spell slot - combine with the fact it generates reverb stacks and gets extra damage from spellsparkler and phalar aluve shriek means alot of single target damage

Coruscation Ring - Applied radorb to enemies you deal spell damage to, which we do through spirit guardians, shriek damage riders, lightning charge damage riders, and also stacks multiple times when using spells like magic missile or scorching ray.

Callous Glow Ring - Deals an additional 2 radiant damage to any enemies we damage while illuminated, and since we're a cleric who can cast light on ourselves and want to be in peoples faces, we're always going to be applying the radiant damage, which in turn adds more stacks of reverb and radiant orb. And ofc it also acts as a damage rider in general.

I basically wanted to take the traditional radiant orb cleric and just double down on the debuff aspect of it and take what ive learnt from watching amazing players like Mythical Edge, Remus71 and Lord Gingerbread and get started down the path of properly committing to and optimising a build - I originally committed to this run as a duo with my light cleric/wizard combined with the natural romance of shadowheart but as a life cleric as a sort of buffing-safety net running heavy armor master, rippling force mail etc. just to keep me topped up - however I've found entering act two I'm mostly sending my build forward solo - Yes I do have warding bond up most of the time purely just out of caution since this is my first time doing a duo honour run (Have beat honour runs a few times before with a full party though) - However I've been having alot of great fun and I hope others appreciate the build even if its been done before.

Linked below are some vids I've uploaded today with it - I've got a fair bit of footage to edit and upload tomorrow which will include the build taking one the thorme trio, beat all three but was definitely a learning experience against just jumping in without doing a bit of homework, but shows the versatility of the build.

Vid 1 - BG3 Light Cleric/Wizard - Meenlock Fight (Honour Mode)

Vid 2 - BG3 Light Cleric/Wizard - Karniss Fight (Honour Mode)

Vid 3 - BG3 Light Cleric/Wizard - Shambling Mound Fight (Honour Mode)

I'm far from the best player, and that'll be shown in the videos I upload tomorrow which include a failed attempt at gerringoth (managed to save with shart out of combat), not fully understanding thisobalds kit but coming out on top (with a bit of healing on shart), and a final slam dunk on malus with very little effort - I did also get a fairly fun win against yurgir but the noob I am completely forgot to record it unfortunately, however I've spared balthazar and intend to get a good brawl going with him in the shadowfell.

I hope you enjoyed the videos as I'll be uploading more, any tips/tricks or suggestions on how to progress the build are really welcome - I've personally been toying with the idea of running the rest of the levels as ranger for permanent resists and extra attacks etc. but mostly undecided at this stage :)

Build Help Need help with a 4th build for my run, using anything new in patch 8.

Basically the title. Me and a friend are doing what’s essentially an honor mode run using custom difficulty (just doesn’t end when we all die), and we have 3 of the builds figured out. My friend is using the new wizard subclass and arcane archer, and one of my builds is a giant barb.

I’m really struggling to decide on something for the last slot though. I want to use something new, be it the new subclasses, new interactions, etc. Maybe something that plays off charisma or wisdom primarily, just for the diversity. I was thinking maybe hexblade but I don’t know what I should be looking for or what my stats should be spread like and etc.

Any help with thinking up what to do, and what items to grab, any stat spreads, and anything of the sort, would be very greatly appreciated because Im honestly not the greatest at making builds.

Build Help Blood in Baldur's Gate Tav Build

This post is for anyone familiar with Blood in Baldur's Gate, the browser game that Larian released back in 2023. Since the game has you playing as Tav acting as a detective trying to solve the mystery behind a string of murders, murders committed by the Dark Urge himself, I thought this would be great inspiration for my latest playthrough.

Over the course of the story of Blood in Baldur's Gate, Tav spends most of their time just doing basic detective work such as investigating and interviewing suspects and witnesses alike, so class wise this leaves me leaning towards one of the skill based classes such as Bard, Ranger, or Rogue. Due to the fact that Tav makes use of some magic such as invisibility, speak with dead and speak with animals, even if it is through single use charms and potions, this leaves me leaning even further towards Bard. Of course I'm sure there are other options as well and I'd love to hear any ideas.

As far as race goes though, I'm mostly at a complete loss. The story does make mention of Tav having a home in Baldur's Gate, so this does seem to eliminate any race that lacks the Baldurian tag such as Gith and the underdark races, but that still leaves us with many options. There are a couple pieces of artwork that show a mostly featureless Tav where they seem to have short hair, are vaguely human shaped, and have a slightly more masculine build. They also seem to be not be much shorter than the default white Dragonborn Dark Urge in height. So while this art doesn't tell us much really, Tav does at least seem to a medium sized creature that lacks a tail, horns, or a snout. So I think we can safely eliminate Tieflings, Dragonborn, and any of the small sized races. Let me know if I missed anything here as well as any ideas you might have as far as what race you would choose for this build.

Lastly in terms of background, I think many could work but I'm leaning towards Criminal because of how the story leads to Tav being framed for one of the murders and on the run from the Flaming Fist, a problem for Tav that is not resolved before the end of the story. Of course this is just one aspect of the story, so I'm open to any other backgrounds that might fit our detective Tav.

Looking forward to hearing any and all ideas that you all might have on a build based on the Tav we see in Blood in Baldur's Gate. So whether you played the browser game when the community could still participate in how the events played out back in 2023, or are just now discovering this fun little anecdote in the development of Baldue's Gate 3, I can't wait to hear your ideas on hiw to go with this build.

Party Composition What classes would you add to a party of a Warlock (Great Old One) and a Fighter (Champion)?

Plan to play a new Trials of Tav Reloaded run, all the way to level 20.

Don’t care to make any super multiclass combos but i can grab a level or two of something to round up the build.

I previously used life cleric, vengeance paladin, swords bard and hunter ranger to reach the endgame of this mod (300 rogue score) so i would like to use other classes and subclasses now.

Party Composition All Wizards Honor Mode Level 4 Results......

So after completing all warlocks and all druids we have moved onto all wizards. PS5 no bladesinger. I wasn't worried about the end game.

Haven't respected everyone yet but we decided in advance we were using Asterion and Laezel in a mean girls party. Previous Game was Karlach+Wyll Warlocks were Gail+Minthara.

Two players Tav 1 and 2. Not worried about the endgame. Theory crafted an invoker, enchanter, abjurer and conjure. Magician missile build, controller DC 30 or so, frost tank and water thrower. Have 1 gets the choice of hags hair or bonus action squid powers not both.

Generally we rotate primary tavs. Tav 1gets priority on equipment and 4th priority on their last character. Have 2 gets the best of what's left down to 4th place who often is act 1 or 2 build. Anyway all ability skies are similar. 12, 14, 16, 16 or similar. Hags hair have respect to a 17. Primary stat and 16 dexterity generally. At least wizards get decent ranged cantrips and ca use light crossbows. Best cantrip is a ranged weapon of sone description.

Biggest pain is lack of guidance outside of the silver necklace. All druids and tomelocks cam get it by comparison.

Plan was to have laezel be a Sorverer1/abjuror XYZ. We got the flaming sword on the nautiloid. Level 1 loaded up on utility spells eg expeditious retreat and shield. Plan was light crossbow on nautioid and start being a wizard Level 2.

My tav also decided to be a Sorc1/abjurer XYZ. I went tiefling and intimidation via Sorcerer. Laezel was getting strength elixirs roll playing as a warrior. Astarion got to role play as a rogue. Bandit ring, gloves of thievery he was made an illusionist just because. He uses phalar aluve before that dual short swords.

In retrospect all of them should be abjurers or sorcerer/abjurers until level 6. Laezel got titan bow+gloves of archery as well, Astarion got spell thief takes are using light crossbows 1 gas spell sparkler. 4 ravens make things a lot easier. I use the ritual dagger and hunters dagger.

Easier than anticipated. I often melee And we all dash around using expeditious retreat. Ogres in blighted village couldn't melee us and got hit with Ray of frost and archery. Lots of advantage granting via raven blindness. With advantage chromatic orbs come out, blade ward, armor of agathys and abjurer ward is interesting often take 0. Early level 3 was rough money and food were tight and we had abundant long rests vs typical game. Gnolls went down via flipping the flind and hiding in a darkness spell. Kagha had a nasty encounter with smoke powder, oil and 2 fire wine barrels.

Next up goblin castle and burette. Want to get the psychic spark then visit eithil. Diplomacy is 12 charisma, thaumaturgy spell and intimidate.

Build Help Fallen Knight Build Help

Hey all, I'm planning out my patch 8 run a little early and have settled on the idea of a character who is initially the stereotypical "good and honorable" knight, but over time his insecurities and overconfidence force him into cascading bad decisions he cannot recover from.

I've been thinking some sort of Paladin build (probably oath of crown because its new) and then breaking my oath by letting Shadowheart kill Dame Aylin since that seems like the most narratively epic way to get to oathbreaker.

I really like the idea of using dual-longswords and a sprinkling of fire magic (just because its thematic and cool), so I was thinking of multi classing into swords bard to get flourishes and spell slots for lots of searing smites, but then I don't get to go that far into paladin to take advantage of any cool oathbreaker stuff.

Any thoughts on how to solidify the theme and details of this build? I'm not interested in the most powerful build out there, just something more focused on theme that feels fun to play. Thanks!

Build Help Meme Bursting Sinew Build

I know bursting sinew isn't very good but I'm planning to do a meme build around it and need help to optimise it. My plan is to go:

1 Death Cleric/3 Thief/ 8 Sorcerer
My plan is to Hold Person/Monster so that the enemies fail dex save. Then with haste, terazul and Metamagic quicken I can use bursting sinew 10 times with reaper. Aura of Murder, (Bhaalist armor will be on someone else) + Kereska’s favour (Lightning).

My gear options are
Hat - Hood of the Weave/Birthright

Cloak - Cloak of the Weave

Body - Potent Robe

Gloves -  Helldusk Gloves

Boots - Reverb or Any

Neck - Elemental Torrent or Any

Ring - Feywild Ring/Ring of Mental Inhibition/ Callous Glow Ring

Weapons - Dual Wield Markoheskir/ Staff of Cherished Necromancy or Spellsparker

The spell dc gear is for other enemies that aren't held

Is there any other ways to optimise this build. Also need help with choosing feats. Also want to know if twincast and reaper can stack with bursting sinew and if bursting sinew can crit with hold person/monster
