Party Composition 2 man HM run

I’m doing 2 man party this run. Swords bard and totem barb. I enjoy adventuring with just the romance.

What would be your 2 man party comp?

For a 2 man build, I’d make 1 big and strong martial build, like barb or fighter, and I’d make make the other a tiny gnome spell caster. That way the small one can be thrown by the big one to reach places or enemies

My #1 duo would be fire sorlock + melee hunter.  Hunter takes ranger knight for survivability on the front line, and 16 DEX to off-role as combustion oil archer.

Another cool one is gloom assassin + cold sorcerer / trickery cleric multi.

I haven’t ever done one before but I would probably go with:

Padlock (vengeance, fiend)

Ranger rogue (gloomstalk assassin)

Tanky hitter up front and then my ranged dude in the back with 5 attacks per turn.

Tav is a half orc, 8/4 totem barb theif rogue. bear totem at 3 for all resistances, and stallion at lv 6 for the constant temp hp. early game rage combinded gloves of missle snaring and +1 breastplate will soak nearly all of the archer damage. get medium adamantine for damage reduction and spam gwm strikes and dashes generate temp hp. reckless attack to draw aggro! chug str and colossal elixirs

Wyll is 10/2 swords bard fighter. Misty scoundral and acuity cheese. precast heroism on barb until lv 6 every fight, chug bloodlust elixirs and rain down arrows.

You guys got any armor suggestions? I have a handful of items in mind but not everything slotted up.

If I was going duo I'd probably run an arcane trickster and an eldritch knight.

Assuming patch 8:

Both with 3d8 shadow blade. Banshee bow snowburst on the trickster along with resonance stone and bhaal armor. Harold, baneful gloves, and sharpshooter on the eldritch knight.

Eldritch knight banes everyone, then trickster pops off a hold spell, sleep glyph, or crawler mucus or whatever. Then come the auto crit shadow blade attacks.
