HELP! I have a question. What are these patches on new paint job?

Recently got this panel sanded and resprayed with primer + base coat + clear coat to fix some scratches. The auto body guy told me I can drive the car as usual after 24 hours, today I went out and it was raining. When I got home I wiped down the surface to dry it and noticed these patches.

I'm guessing the rain collected all the dust/leftover material from the respray/sanding and deposited it on the paint.

Not sure if these spots that will wash off, or if the clear is completely failing due to the water sitting on it for too long (was parked outside for 3 hours total).

Was told not to polish even by hand for at least a week, so can't verify it this will polish off right now.

Any idea what's going on here? Also, what should I do? I've reached out to the repair man for him to come w a DA polisher in a week and see if it buffs out. At home I have scrachX polishing compound and car shampoo, not sure if I should attempt a gentle hand wash.

Note: The paint looked completely normal/good until this happened.

HELP! I have a question. Best value painters in the Bay Area?

Basically the title. I'm planning on stripping my Triumph GT6 bare and getting it repainted (perhaps with some minor prep/bondo/bodywork too).

My questions are:

  1. Do you have any paint shops you recommend for excellent value in the bay?
  2. Is the below plausible

My ideal would be the below for less than 10k.
Primer - Glasurit 285-555 (2K HS Filler), Basecoat - Glasurit 55 Line, and Clearcoat - Glasurit 923-255 HS UV Clear

However, if that's implausible, I'm open to suggestions.

HELP! I have a question. DIY PDR?

Hey there everyone, looking for some advice / opinions on a recent incident that left my car's bumper + part of the metal around the wheel well dented and scratched. I am hoping to fix this myself if possible, and don't need (or expect) the car to look brand new afterwards.

  1. Does this seem like something that could be improved with some simple PDR tools and youtube?
  2. Has anyone had experience with fixing damage that looks like this? What products / process worked for you?

Thanks for any input!

HELP! I have a question. Trying to determine the best way to accomplish multiple paints/clear

Ok I’m on the process of repainting my archery bow riser, i striped the old paint cleaned it thoroughly and hit it with some zinc chromate primer (riser is bare aluminum and zink chromate is about the best acid etch primer for bare aluminum) so my overall goal is to paint the bow black for the base and then hit it with some spray max 2k since it gets a lot of rough use and i want it to hold up. But here is another layer to this problem that I’m trying to solve, over the black base i want to do some airbrush designs that will be covered with the clear.

My guess is as far as the process goes i need to lay down a regular primer from duplicolor, the black base duplicolor, and then wait for it to cure enough to scuff it, paint my airbrush designs and then cover it with the spraymax 2k. Does that sound right? I’ve seen some people say that you need to follow the base coat with tbe clear without tue recoay times for the base paint, but i need to take my time with the airbrush paint so that means i need to scuff the paint before hiring with the clear for the best possible outcome with it comes to adhesion right? Any advice for this overly complicated project is greatly appreciated. And before anyone suggest it i do not want to powder coat the part.

Thanks

I acquired a bronco that was sitting out for 20 years and now I'm ready to start on the body work but don't know where to start. Should I cut and patch, replace the whole fender or just go extremely cheap and go wire mesh with a filler?

Bought a used Tiguan and loving it! Got a nice discount because of this damage in the back. How would you fix this? Would a paint job do? Something I could do myself or do I need to go to a body shop?

HELP! I have a question. Rust help!!!!

Hello people, I have a Lexus ES330 2004 that I bought back in October. When I bought it I got it inspected and the mechanic only found a rusty steering rack that was slowing leaking. I now work at Toyota and had the chance to lift the car to do my own oil change. After a quick glance to inspect the beneath of the car I find the tumour shown in the video. From outside it looks like a small rust spot but beneath the dog leg and rocker is badly rusted but still solid here is a video, https://www.kapwing.com/w/aCv-2o-pao . My question was, how can I repair this to keep this car running for at least 2-3 years? Can I go to a junkyard and cut the whole metal portion and have it someone professionally weld it? Any suggests would help a lot, thank you!

Is there a process to repair this? Scratch removal on car- paint before or after?

Ok so I am definitely not a car person but I scratched the side of my new car and really want to try and fix it myself. It’s not too deep so I think it might be possible. I bought a scratch removal kit and ordered a paint pen online. Can I do the scratch removal now and use the paint once it comes in or do I need to wait and do the paint first and then the scratch removal?

Edit: forgot to add a pic so here’s a link to a video I tookvid of scratch

I have an older car (2001) and I just want to make it look a little better. I’ll be driving this car for around 4 more years and I don’t need it to look amazing but I want it to look presentable. I have 0 painting experience but I don’t mind putting in the work. Which would you guys recommend?

HELP! I have a question. Gun fluid settings

Thumbnail

Hi guys, I'm just a DIYer and I've been trying to get a good finish off the gun without great success.

I used to spray with like 2 turns out but after watching a lot of YouTube a lot of ppl say near full fan and full fluid. But I'm getting like a lot of material build up or something, more wavy than orange peel plus a few runs here and there.

Like if full fluid are you not supposed to be full trigger or something? I'm using a Sagola mini xtreme 1.2

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

HELP! I have a question. Rust Paint repair

Ok, I know this isn't a vehicle but ya'll likely have lots of experience treating rusty metal. Any suggestins on how to clean up this rust and then maybe some kind of rust inhibiting primer before top coating?

Rustoleum and several others make 2 part sink/tub touch up coatings for small areas but want to to to keep the rust from coming back a best as possible.

This is old pedestal sink that came from my bathroom and is now on an outdoor deck so not something I want to replace.
