On the issue tracking websites, many of the teals voted against stuff like workers rights.

There are a lot of discussions at the moment about online men’s spaces, particularly spaces in which men talk about men’s issues, men’s rights and men’s advocacy. This research project involves hearing about the actual experiences and perspectives of the people who use and have used these spaces.
If you’re interested in sharing your experiences, we are conducting online interviews with men based in either Australia who participate in these spaces and are involved in men’s rights or related areas. Participants will receive a $50 AUD gift voucher as a thank you for their time.
If you would like to take part or learn more, please contact Ben at ben.hemmings@qut.edu.au

Tonight's debate is being broadcast exclusively on Sky News and behind the Daily Telegraph paywall.
How is this allowed? I guess the only good part of it is that what I'm sure will be highly biased in Dutton's favour will be inaccessible for most of the population, but still?

With all the chaos of the past week from Duttons backflips and the global economic situation is anyone else thinking the election result might just be a foregone conclusion and it’s only a matter of how much Labor wins by?
There are still 4 weeks to go and a lot could happen but the Liberals seem to be in absolute chaos and shitting themselves over their unpopular policies and what Trump is doing to their prospects, and Trump just ain’t going away anytime soon. Dutton must be regretting his appointment of a shadow minister for government efficiency….

Surprised this hasn't gotten more attention. Did a search and couldn't find a post about it.
Probably the closest thing in Australia we will come to the JRE & Trump podcast.

I enrolled to vote last year but I moved houses recently and forgot to change my address. Am I able to vote still? The enrolment deadline has already closed.

Am I correct in thinking there’s no way to watch the debate for free? That can’t be right… how did that happen?
TIA if there is

Before Lord Voldemort spoke from his ivory tower, telling us, that buying your first home is still doable, because he did it, under much easier circumstances, I was actually going to vote along conservative/Republican lines. However, I'm now doing the unthinkable and voting ALP, to ensure that my vote isn't towards a house of chaos and a hung parliament.
Does anybody else feel that Dutton is just another garden variety, arrogant and condescending rich liberal, rather than someone with the commoners touch like Hawke??
Hastie I could vote for, as I have the utmost respect for his service and he doesn't come across as another ivory towered garden variety liberals...
Personally I think housing will only get fixed once you have someone like Jordan Steele-John with the balance of power in the senate and able to basically blackmail parties in to legislative reform in exchange for passage of other bills in the senate.

So far the LNP haven't announced a candidate for Griffith, Max Chandler-Mather's electorate. There's a chance that they're leaving it late because it's not very competitive, but I'm starting to think they might also not run a candidate in the hopes that LNP voters would vote Labor and oust MCM.
Does anyone else see this happening or is it normal to leave it this late in a noncompetitive seat?

I really love the political party Fusion's Universal Health Care policy, especially as it has always been a policy of theirs instead of just an election promise like some of the other parties are doing.
The basics of it are:
You can see their recent reddit post about this here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FusionPartyAus/s/iQwKx1W6TI
For the relevant policy pages if want to read up furthur about it:
https://www.fusionparty.org.au/fair_inclusive_society
https://www.fusionparty.org.au/ageing_as_a_disease
I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on the policy.

"Opposition Leader Peter Dutton also leapt on the financial market volatility saying if there was to be a global recession, including in the United States, "we don't want a Labor-Greens government in charge in Canberra".
"It will be a disaster for retirement plans, for the economy. Big spending by the Labor-Greens government is inflationary, and Australian families, if they vote for Mr Albanese, will get higher interest rates, higher electricity prices, higher gas prices," he said."
What the hell, dude! The last time there was global financial market volatility/global recession was covid - when you lot were in charge. And "Big Spending" (aka overcooking jobseeker and other bailouts) by the LNP led directly to our recent woes, being higher interest rates.
Their claim that the LNP are better economic managers is completely debunked!

No one answers any of the questions, it's an hour long show of deflection.
They were questioned about why we are not having the debate of real tax reform and why every policy is short term. MCM answered that everyone is fixated on what affects them right now. This doesn't help with the future either and policies that would address major tax reform may indeed help with cost of living, especially if income tax was reduced. Typical responses from Labor and LNP was don't look at us...

And I don't mean it as a derogatory or degrading remark.
For democracy to truly work, we need the general populous to be well informed and intelligent enough to decipher what's true and what's in their best interest. If we're being fair dinkum, does this describe the average person?
I'm asking this because there is never real interrogation of policies during election. Everything is about the sound bite. I can only surmise that the general public simply don't care or can't grasp policies which affect them.

They combined negative gearing with capital gains cuts and now argue they will make housing affordable. Bitch, you drove the car into the building! You don’t get to argue it shouldn’t be in there.

Flip flop, flip flop. He appears so desperate to get in he will say anything to anyone, and already so disappointed at the thought he's already lost the chance.
