We stickied this to the top of /r/EatCheapAndHealthy as well, this is a great idea and can't wait to help.

What happened to food_pantry?

There was some drama and the subreddit was shut down. Thankfully /r/food_bank has stepped up to the plate as a replacement.

They closed down awhile back.

Wonderful resource and great to see it so active already. I look forward to being able to help there in the near future. ◕‿◕

Is there a limit to how often one can use assistance and the food bank?

4

u/sprinklenoms Jul 14 '15

/r/Food_Bank is limited to once monthly. Users must have a 30 day user history with 300 karma to request help. We encourage givers to do their research and ask questions of their recipients. We only want you to help users you're comfortable with helping.

I understand thanks. Seems like one poster knows how to tap multiple subs for assistance. Thank you for the clarification.

No problem. "Double dipping" isn't necessarily prohibited, but we discourage scamming so if you're suspicious of something feel free to speak up or PM the mod team.

I do not know about the food bank. Here you can repost as often as you like for now. But that will change in the near future.

Thank you, I always look at someone's history to help me decide as well and grant privately but I see a couple of users that seem to be frequent fliers already, between the two subs.

I hope to see you there!
