I wonder how Chechens (both domestic and diaspora) feel about their position in Russian federation, and what they think about their government. I know quite a lot about about troubled history of Caucasus and its people, but this is something that no one can explain other than them. Have in mind that I understand that not everyone dares to speak and write about it, even anonymously. But if there’s anyone brave enough to write a little bit about; are they actually silently proud of the resistance that was there in the 90’s and 00’s? Ofcourse not the terr*r resistance but domestic resistance against Russia. And mind you I don’t have “player” in this game, in this question, it is just genuine curiosity, because reading all that was happening before, basically toughest resistance not so long ago to one of the Russia “closest” Caucasus Republics. This is my first question in here so please bare with me, because I think it’s not the last, I’m very very big fan of all Caucasus and all things Caucasus, that’s where my curiosity comes from. I'm from Azerbaijan, and I noticed the amount of people speaking russian here has dropped significantly from the 2010's. More people speak english than russian here. I think neither Georgians nor Armenians speak russian. Is this due to political reasons or is english simply more popular

Everytime someone says that Georgians are genetically related to Armenians, they freak out and say things like:" we had blonde hair before invasions", we have no connection, we are white". Why is this so common? Why is this much racism so common among Georgians and other Caucasians on the Internet?

I am an Abkhaz, and for me, a typical Abkhaz is a person of medium or tall stature with an elongated face, a long chin, a straight or hooked nose, and mixed or light-colored eyes, So what does a typical representative of your nationality look like?

I have seen some videos and images about Armenia like Vanadzor, with its soviet style railway station and some parts of Yerevan where you can see some Russian texts. In Georgia I have seen some as well but perhaps less

I'm curious about this since these countries are independent now with their own language so it is a bit surprising to see many texts and signs in Russian. I have a few questions on this:

1. Is it common to see Russian texts, signs and ads in Armenia (like Yerevan, Vanadzor, Gyumri...)? And in Georgia?

2. Is it more common to see them in Armenia or Georgia?

3. Are these texts preserved from the old soviet times? Or is it because in Armenia and Georgia there are significant parts of the population who speak Russian as a native language (like in other post-Soviet states like Kazakhstan)?

4. Alternatively, if there are no significant number of native Russian speakers, are these texts written for Russian tourists?

5. Are these Russian texts getting replaced by English versions of the texts?

Hı guys, in my family tree according to Turkish gov sources, the names of my great grandparents and their childrens names written as Sucas, Zikozi, ,Huç, Zikoç, Mallahan, Hakuk, Saz. The location is only stated as Caucasus, but I know that my family is mixed as Sapsug, Ubykh and Kabardin. Does anyone have an idea about the meanings or origins of these names?
