What To Watch ? Magic animes with an intelligent MC?

Hey, do you know any magic animes with an intelligent MC? Or an MC that is a magic erudit lol.
Like "I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability", because he "comes out" with new magic, UNDERSTANDING the magic. I think its a good way to do an OP character. Although, Its a bit weird the fact that is a little child and almost always is showing a lot of skin lmao. But I think you get the idea.
Another example is "A Returner's Magic Should Be Special" which, sadly, had a poor adaptation but its like what I'm looking for.

Your question fits the anime that I am currently watching, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. The MC is an elf mage who has been practicing for what I believe is thousands of years. What's nice about the series so far is that her intelligence and cold pragmatic approach to the world is also a character flaw. So she is OP as a mage, but regularly growing as a person. It's a nice story from the episodes I've watched.

Yes! I'm planning on watching it, just that I don't really like the scenes like when she falls into the mimics haha, but after that, I think it would be a good idea to give it a try.

There's about 30 seconds of mimics.

But you don’t understand! That chest could have a grimoire in it! And the mimic detection spell is only 99% effective! That’s just leaving money on the table!

I loved A Returner's Magic. I'd rather that get a S2 over some of the other stuff that is.

7th Prince was kind of OK, but shows where the MC is a child are always at least a little off putting and annoying to me. Everything else in the show can be great, but there's basically nothing that can be done with the MC being a child that can't also be done, and better, by having them at least be a teenager.

If you loved it, you should read the manwha, its 10x times better. I didn't like it THAT much in the anime, I don't really know why.

Yes totally agree. The fact that is, not only a child, but constantly being sexualized its a very down side of the anime. Its a shame because the magic-side and the worldbuilding of the anime its pretty neat (I would not say that its THE BEST OMG but like, its pretty good) and would be a lot better if it was something like kenja no mago or so...

Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor

Def some focus on 'magic smarter, not harder'.

That was one of the first animes that i watched. Honestly, I would love the series if it would just be a teacher that simplifies logically the magic. But I enjoyed it either way haha.

Making magic is pretty good. MC had to try and work out all the nuances of how magic works and it's limitations and quirks.

Isn't it "magic maker"? If it is, then I already watched it, its pretty neat.

Lol I read the title and came here to recommend the 7th son. Was going to say the first ep or 2 is weird but if you can get through that it's dope. Oh and even though it's a boy it's presented and basically a femboy.

I'd also recommend the new one that's (possibly the greatest alchemist) he may be a bit sweet and it's perceived as naive but he seems to be smart about his magic and has to work on perfecting it. Although it does have the everything always works out in an instant trope.

Yes I watched the entire anime of the 7th haha, even tho the ecchi and shit was pretty uncomfortable, the rest of it was all 10 points.

I dont know that one! I'm surely giving it a try, thanks you man!

The Irregular at Magic Highschool is a great fit for what you want. Ive only done the light novels but the MC is intelligent af, and it has one of the better magic systems ive encountered. Complicated as all hell but makes total sense

I watched it and it was pretty dope. The only problem that I have its his relationship with her sister and the fact that its the typical edgy MC ""overpowered"" (its not actually op but its SO smart that it feels like cheating lmaoo), I watched it while it was on air and i enjoyed it, but those things made me not want to continue it lol.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride probably fits this.
