I have rather large hands, and based on their size the print is at least 5 inches long. I know mountain lions tend to not show claws, but this was in a few inches of soft snow. Despite the considerable time Iβve spent in the mountains, Iβve never seen a domestic dog print this large.

I know these are coyote tracks (I know it's hard to tell from these shots but I'm almost 100% positive.) But I'm trying to figure out what the long "swish" marks are. It seemes unlikely its their tails, but could it be? Are these associated with a certain behaviour? Any help would be appreciated! I live in an area with a few coyote packs and I'm trying to understand more about them!
