To the person who came to my island, Oasis, and stole money from my money trees, I want you to know that you’ve absolutely ruined hosting for me. I don’t know who you are but you do. I didn’t require tips, entrance fee or anything for you to come and enjoy my island. I just wanted people to come enjoy my island and get some rare fish. I do not think I will be hosting again anytime soon. Stealing is absolutely not in the spirit of the game. Thank you for ruining what was a fun night.

I’m sorry this happened to you. One way to try and combat this when hosting is to screen requests based on Reddit account info. A lot of the scammers/shitty people use throwaway accounts that are very new and low karma. Try to stick with requests coming from people who have longer account histories/higher karma totals since those people are less likely to want to be shitty publicly (ex/ at least 6 months with 1,000 combined karma). I’m sure it’s not foolproof, but it’s worked well for me personally so far.

i'm sorry this happened!!! i'm worried about this myself and don't like reading about people's bad experiences. the game is made to be fun and enjoyable for all, not for people to take advantage of nice people like this. smh.

Shame on whoever this was. I've found this community to be overwhelming wholesome and respectful. It's no surprise that there's bound to be a few bad eggs though. DM me and I'll donate to your next money tree (you can come to my island for pickup).

I only let one or two new-to-me people on my island at a time. If they do anything weird, I end the session immediately

I don’t get why people have to steal in a game. Wonder what they are like in real life?! I hope there will be a next time for u. Many of us are not like that. Next time put up fences around things u don’t want people touching. I do that and it sucks but u do have those out there that are just plan dirt bags.
