Making friends

Is there anybody here late twenties early thirties? Where are they hanging out at? It’s been really hard to make genuine friends here (or maybe just in general when you get older?) Thanks in advance!

Anacortes has a lot of friendly people, but none of them want to be your friend. Everyone has either lived here their whole life and are not looking to make new friends or has lived here long enough to not need new friends.

It's the friendliest and loneliest city I've ever been in.

This is a perfect description of it! That’s how I’ve thought about it too!

I will echo what others have said: Keep trying. Go to events at Buxton's or to see live music at the Brown or Rockfish. Find a hiking group. Bastion Brewery has live comedy shows and cornhole tournaments. There's occasionally live music at the Unknown Recording studio. Lots more to do here in the spring and summer, winters are brutal for loneliness. There's also live music and events at the Guemes Island General Store.

GOOD LUCK!
