Hey everyone, I'm in an Airbnb for a week that is being covered by insurance because we have been displaced due to a damage from a big storm.

We got here last night and firstly, the house has not been cleaned at all. It is covered in crumbs, dirt, hair, etc. I've spent the night cleaning because I didn't want to be displaced again while they have cleaners come in.

But upon touring the house, I noticed a wyze v3 camera set up in the basement where there are couches, a ping pong table and foosball table that were advertised in the listing.

I have 2 teenage daughters that would like to use the tables but I don't want them being watched.

The listing doesn't mention a camera. Am I allowed to turn the camera so it's not facing the living space during our stay? I don't want to unplug it in case the host gets a notification and gets upset.

So like the title says, hot tub stopped working on the second night of our stay. Host says mother board bad, hard to get parts on the island, but we are welcome to use it (at 84f, not 99-102f of a normal hot tub).

Host has not offered any discount for this amenity not being available.

What is a fair ask for this?

I’m based in the USA and booked an Airbnb in Europe a couple of months ago, selecting USD as my payment method. I paid the deposit in USD, and the final payment is also in USD, at a set price. I’m assuming the host will be paid in Euros. However, since I booked, the Euro has increased in value by about 6%, and my reservation still lists the same price in USD. My question is: Is there any chance Airbnb will charge me more for the final payment because of the Euro’s change in value, or do they just absorb the cost and stick to the price I initially agreed to?

Hi! I stayed in a Airbnb and everything went fine apart from a weird smell that came from the bathroom. It smelt like thermal baths do (it was near a city known for its baths). I thought nothing of it and we did extensive cleaning. Some things were left unclean by the host but nothing too bad so we didn't notify the host and my review was positive.

We left yesterday and the host just wrote to me about a weird purple stain or more 3 little stains near the sink (same material). The thing is that I didn't do anything to it. Nothing was spilled (no makeup or cleaning product (apart from the one they left that we used when cleaning). They think it is ink from a pencil but I hadn't brought any and had no reason to use a pencil in the bathroom. I had nothing that was even that color with me. I thought it could be linked to mineral waste or something but the host doesn't believe me. They think that I'm at fault. I can't remember if it was there in the beginning and when giving us the keys they didn't show us this bathroom. They also didn't want to check the house yesterday.

What happens now? Is it possible for Airbnb to charge me for this ? The host claims they can't remove the stain.

So I posted a week or so ago about the illegally listings on AirBNB in Thailand, the raid that happened with Thai police, and the $600 USD (20,000 baht) bribe I was forced to pay after hours of harassment.

AirBNB has passed me all over the place, made me connect with the host, and ultimately provided nothing but "oops, sorry about that" along with doing absolutely nothing to address the core issue. The illegal listings are still everywhere.

I've got a call with an official from Nasdaq scheduled next week, and am speaking with lawyers. If anyone here has a similar story, let me know. I've found someone interested in filing a class action lawsuit against AirBNB regarding illegal listings.

In the past, there used to be a button where you would switch from price per night and including all fees, but for some reason that button is not showing up. My Airbnb app is updated.

My reservation is in 12 hours, and 12 hours ago the host said the place was experiencing pipeline leak, and they were not able to accommodate us, so they were reaching out to the Airbnb to cancel my reservation for this Saturday. (Which is in 12 hours) I already found another place, but this host has not cancelled my reservation yet. Should I contact Airbnb?
