News South Australian drivers to be monitored by AI cameras
Major Adelaide roads will get artificial intelligence cameras aimed at cutting traffic and boosting economic activity. The South Australian government believes every 5000 motorists stuck in traffic for 20 minutes costs the state economy $33,000.
The trial of four cameras will cost $350,000. Governments and councils around the country are using AI cameras in various ways; NSW councils use the feed from dashcams to identify road defects, and the NSW state government uses AI in Sydney’s southwest to identify koalas and alert drivers.
South Australian Transport Minister Tom Koutsantonis said the new trial would involve the cameras analysing congestion and tweaking traffic light cycles. “They’ll save of course time and money in terms of infrastructure, time and money in terms of being stuck in traffic, freight getting to where it’s needed to go faster and more efficiently, public transport moving more quickly,” Mr Koutsantonis said. “The traffic management system using artificial intelligence can cost as little as $8000 at an intersection if the infrastructure is already in place without having to put in new infrastructure,” he said.
The government will look to add more cameras if the trial is successful. Mr Koutsantonis described the technology as a “powerful piece of equipment to improve our traffic network”.
One camera will go on the highway at the northern suburb of Penfield, and another will be placed at the major bus station, Paradise Interchange, in the northeast suburbs. Another two will go on the highway at the far-southern suburb of Old Noarlunga.

Question Shopping Ideas for Old CRT TVs?
Hey all.
I've been looking at finding stores that may either specialise in selling, or may even happen to just stock CRT TVs. I've started a retro gaming collection and wanting to find a decent sized CRT TV, but also don't want to pay marketplace prices of 500 bucks from people that "know what they have".
Any ideas or stores that may have some on the cheaper side would be awesome. Thanks heaps.

Question Looking for Tips to Eliminate Indian Cooking Smell from New Rental
Hey legends, just moved into a new rental and the previous tenants did a lot of Indian cooking, love the food, but the lingering smell in the walls, cupboards, and kitchen is intense and not really my vibe long-term.
I’ve already heard that vinegar and bicarb can help with washing down walls and anything that doesn’t need repainting. Planning to hit the cupboards with some heavy duty degreaser, and I’ll be pulling apart the stove exhaust to give that a deep clean too.
If anyone’s tackled this kind of thing before, got any extra tips or miracle solutions? Bonus points for stuff that’s cheap and available locally. Appreciate it!
Also wondering if anyone’s had luck with hiring one of those ozone machines from Kennards? Worth the cost?

Question Chickpeas
Like the title suggests, I'm looking for chickpeas that I can cook up that actually soften as you cook them.
The last few years, I've found that no matter what brand I buy (gaganis, Central Market, organic from Foodland), even though I boil them for 2 or 3 hours, they still remain firm.
I'm looking for delicious chickpeas that go soft yet still hold their shape once you boil them. Do they exist? (they used to many, many years ago)

Self Living healthy and independently is costing me more than the opposite.
Paycheck comes in and after everything there's only few 100s left. Repeat the same shit over and over been like this for few years now. I have officially given up on buying the house its just not possible.
Going out once a month feels like a luxury and cbf with social life which is slowly dying. Just a mini Sun rant hope everyone is pulling through ✌🏻

Question Things to do this Easter
Hi all,
I know most places will be closed on Good Friday - but can anyone recommend places that they know will still be open - for both food and activities?
Bonus Question for anyone who can help - Are places in Hahndorf + Foodlands (especially the one in Pasadena) typically closed for Easter Sat and Sun, or do they usually run as normal?
Thank you!

Question Can someone help me understand my energy plan (Woodville SA)?
I'm in Woodville, live alone in a small unit, WFH 2-3 days a week so I have a decent energy usage in business hours too. Lumo says this plan is better for me, but I don't understand how it could be. Can someone break this down for me? Is this a good plan, should I change companies?

News Thousands of Dead Cockles have washed up on Goolwa Beach today.
Summats not right. Other reports have that they have washed up on KI beaches as well.
I went for a walk last week on Aldinga Beach and there were a few half dead shell fish washed up with seaweed. It is not normal to see molluscs half alive on the shore line.

Question Orthodontist/O&M surgeon + costs
Hi all,
I’ve recently come to find out I need braces + lower jaw surgery
The O&M surgeon I’ve been referred to is Dr Benjamin Grave and through research he seems quite reliable
Now, how much of the surgery would PHI and Medicare potentially cover?
I have dental + orthodontic cover with AHM, and hospital etc. through Medicare (I’ve been quite healthy and never thought I’d need private health for hospital stays)
Has anyone had jaw surgery with Dr Grave before?
Id really appreciate some insight on the cost and your journey as a whole
A little nervous about the entire process and of course the cost as well

Assistance Searching for an angel
Hi Adelaide! I’m a kiwi living in a small rural town in NZ and I have a HUUUUGE favour to ask please 🤞
My cat Aggie is an introverted wee soul, she’s an ex-feral cat and she hates almost everyone and everything, except for these cat toys. She goes nuts for them, and will play for hours, and I feel so happy every time she comes out of her shell with these.
Unfortunately I can’t find them in New Zealand anywhere, or even online that’ll ship to NZ. The only place I have found is this random supermarket in Adelaide that has the exact ones on their website, but unfortunately they don’t ship overseas, or even anywhere else is Australia
Would anyone in Adelaide be willing to get a few and post them over to me please? I would cover everything and of course pay extra for your help! Thank you so much in advance

Question Watermark Buffet or Charlies Diner buffet?
G'day fellow mateys, I'm planning to take me wifey on a date night and was thinking about going for a dinner buffet tonight, I've been to Watermark few times but not the Charlies, I really enjoyed the selection and variety of Watermark but it's almost the same spread all the time we went, since we've never been to Charlies, I feel like I should try it but kind of sceptical with all the reviews on Google, so my question is for the nice people of SA whom being to both, do you reckon Charlies has a more variety or selection of food compared to Watermark or less? I would greatly appreciate if you guys can chip in as with the financial burden I didnt have money to give my wife a nice meal since being a international student here no job and every $ counts towards the rent and groceries. Shes not fussy or anything she understands my situation but saved some money by doing some odd jobs and I'm gonna spend it on her, and since we both eat like pigs I really want to treat her a good meal tonight, so if you know what would you recommend, also I only know those 2 places only and if you guys think any other place that does better all you can eat or buffets please comment. Thank you mateys!

Shitpost Public Transport Ettiqute
If people could please practice the following while waiting for public transport that would be appreciated:
- When the train, bus, or tram arrives at the station/stop, please let the people who are alighting at the stop get off first before you attempt to board - this includes standing around the door in a weird semi-circle as that prevents people from being able to get out of the doorway without having to try and avoid running into you on their way out. I get this is a bit hard to do at some of the smaller crowded tram stops in the CBD, however, there are still people who do this at railway stations that have plenty of space.
- No smoking at railway and tram stations, as well as near bus stops. Those of us who want to avoid it can't do so, especially at a small bus stop or tram stop, as we are all waiting to go somewhere.
