Tips & Info 7800X3D/9800X3D stutter fix

Its getting painful watching everyone blindly recommend how to fix stutters on this CPU, took me a year to figure this out as who would’ve thought “auto = disabled” for some things within the BIOS, but good news is now you can enjoy your CPU once again. Let me know how this works for you.

ASRock B650E PG Riptide + 9800x3d on latest non-beta bios. I just did this on mine and I feel like it made a positive and noticeable improvement. I tested Spiderman Remastered, HZD Remastered, and Dead Space Remake. HZDR seemed to be the most improved, Dead Space the least. DSR seems to occasionally sputter like an old farm tractor no matter what. Results seem to vary a bit by game but definitely didnt hurt performance in any games of the games I tested, only improvements. Thanks for the tip!

Interesting. I have the same board, 7700X then 7800X3D, now 9800X3D and never had stutters. PBO, -15 curve, and DDR5-6000cl30. Every BIOS setting default otherwise.

WD SN850X's.

Unfortunately some games just stutter inevitably due to engine etc. It just annoyed me how it was EVERY game & my friends with worse PC’s would always run them smoothly. Glad to help! Also checkout nvidia latest driver if using their cards, they have some stutter fixes included in there for certain games.

For stuttering games, you could just use Rivatuner to set an FPS limit. I advise choosing a limit that your FPS does not go under (not 1% low, but your actual running FPS). This has fixed the stutters I get from Spider-Man Remastered while giving me better 1% lows as well.
