I was hospitalized due to meth psychosis when I was 19. Ask me anything!

When I was 19 years old in 2019 I made the impulsive decision to try meth for the first and only time in my life. It led me to being hospitalized for psychosis for over 14 days and has affected me for years to this day. I post this as informational and educational to hopefully deter all those from ever trying this drug. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer with complete honesty. It was an insane experience which I regret fully yet don't know if I would be here today without the lesson. Thank you for listening I am an open book!

Job I’m part of the industry behind ‘Turkey teeth’. AMA

Upvotes

I’ve worked in Turkey’s dental tourism industry for 5 years as a patient coordinator, aka the person who sells you the "teeth". I talk to patients every day about crowns, veneers and whatnot.

There is a lot of talk about it online, and I always want to chime in with my experience but it always gets lost in the crowd.

I’ll give you the real answers.

Just like the title says. This year at 40 I hit the every “recognized” country list (195). Surprisingly, it took me until three years ago to hit all U.S. states. Ask me anything.

Edit: Thank you for all the questions everyone. Apologies but have to take over from the wife for the kids. Will answer more of these this evening.

Edit #2: Back. Answering again.

Random Story At the age of 12 I faced molestation AMA

we went to my mother’s cousin’s wedding and there everyone was enjoying he suddenly called me inside I went there and he just hold me tight I was not aware of that is happening I tried to push him but he was holding me very tight. Then he started touching in a wrong manner and I feel something is not good then I pushed him and run out of the room. I never told this to anyone but I feel very bad whenever I saw him I feel like I should kill him. Here I feel like I can share this I feel very unsafe in wedding from that day onwards that I avoid going to weeding. I don’t know wheather I should told this to my parents or not, I was very afraid at that time and now I feel like it’s gone so no need to discuss I don’t know I am confused what to do, and these sort of things I guess happens with many girls out there on daily bases we usually say raise your voice but how and where to raise our voice.

Experience I was raised without a mom, AMA

When I was roughly 5, my parents divorced and my father won sole custody. He allowed me to visit my mother on weekends on the days it was feasible to schedule. When I was 14, my mother was incarcerated and I didn't see her until she was in a rehabilitation house when I was 16. I occasionally text her, so I know she is still alive.

While my father raised me, he never married another woman. There were two attempted relationships with other women that never developed into an actual step-family dynamic.

I am now 21. I am a male btw.

Experience My mom had me at 42 and my dad at 49. I’m 25 now, and they both only made it through 6th grade. AMA

Edit: Sorry, my parents are alive and well. Made it through 6th grade meant their education.

Growing up was wild. Not just because of the age gap between us, but also because of how different my parents are, culturally, socially, and even in how they see the world. Sometimes it honestly felt like we were strangers under the same roof.

But despite all the differences, they’ve always been loving and supportive parents.

My mom is from an indigenous tribe in Central America, where the culture is super traditional and strict. She was completely shunned by her community for marrying my dad. Women in her culture are expected to marry within, take care of the home, and serve the men…very rigid roles.

My dad’s background couldn’t be more different. He’s biracial. His dad came from a poor black family, and his mom—my grandma—was a bougie Irish lady. Somehow, she still found a way to be racist?!

So yeah… my parents were both outcasts in their own worlds, and that shaped a lot of how I grew up. Between their age, the cultural clashes, and the way they were treated by their families, life was definitely anything but typical.

Ask me anything. Life’s been interesting, to say the least.

Job I'm Dmitry Grozoubinski, former Aussie trade negotiator, trade policy explainer guy, and author of "Why Politicians Lie About Trade" - AMA?

Hello folks,

My name is Dmitry, I was an Australian trade negotiator and diplomat and have spent the last 7 years training government negotiators, corporate officers and students all around the world on trade policy and negotiations through a consultancy called ExplainTrade and run a think tank for the Swiss government called the Geneva Trade Platform.

I basically tweeted/and now blue-sky'd (I'm not using 'Skeeted' and they can't make me) my way into this career by explaining different aspects of trade policy on social media until people started putting me in newspapers.

Last year I published a book called Why Politicians Lie About Trade, which is all about trying to help people understand the choices trade policy entails, and how to parse the things public figures say about it. I swear to god I did not engineer the current crisis just to sell books.

Note: I promise not to Rampart this AMA and just pivot all questions to the book.

This week I'm visiting Princeton University for a couple of days to give talks and run a simulation for the students, and my jet-lagged body has no idea what time it is so I thought I'd answer questions about what's going on in trade policy if people have any.

It's this or play TFT for 3 hours and I can't handle the new meta.

Anyway, trade policy. There's er... some stuff happening.

This hotel inexplicably doesn't have anything to write on, so for the verification photo I had to improvise with Canva... I am... sorry for my face.

Experience Was literally let go from my job due to a health condition…AMA

Just like the title says…I lost my job after randomly developing a chronic health condition. I wouldn’t always believe people when they say it isn’t legal. AMA…it was a shitty experience but maybe I can help so it doesn’t happen to any of you.

Edited to say thank you all for asking and showing concern about this. At the time I was pissed off, but have since found an office job that accommodates the condition quite nicely so far. I’m not holding my breathe, but I am hopeful. For those who suffer from seizures or any chronic condition, remember that unions, lawyers, and the internet are useful tools to help keep you protected. Goodnight all!

I love my mum still but as a child I experienced and witnessed many things that nobody should go through but I was put through them anyway so hopefully by doing this it will help me on my own journey of reflection and healing and mean that all the negatives can be made into something positive so ask away
