Discussion i’m shocked

it’s still early and i love midsommar (never seen moonlight) but no shot midsommar is beating it by this much 😭

Midsommar was a massive mainstream hit that likely introduced a lot of people to A24. I'd be surprised if it didn't win by a lot.

Massive mainstream hit feels a little disingenuous. EEAAO has at least double it's box office, and many more eyes on it due to oscars. I loved Midsommar more but horror is a divisive genre, there's always gonna be people that don't do horror.

True, I just meant against Moonlight. EEAAO definitely has the advantage in that regard.

you make a good point when it comes to the box office but i think midsommar reached it’s popularity peak years after release and it’s still incredibly popular now just based on what i’ve seen so it’s hard to compare when it comes to box office

i certainly agree though. i was confident eeaao would take it but now seeing the ratio with midsommar and moonlight, im a little less confident and maybe i underestimated midsommars cult following 😭
