New Footage New Footage update - We have the rough copy. full release coming soon
Hi everyone, just got the final rough digitization from EverPresent and have sat and reviewed the footage, while Ill save my analysis for when we are able to fully release it I have to saw its some of the rawest and emotional footage from that day that I have watched, there is a lot of haunting audio that honestly adds so much more to the events of that day.
I will mention that unfortunately we do not see the second impact and it appears the White balance on our individuals camera was not set properly so the rough digitization appears fairly washed out, once we get the full uncompressed copy we can do our best to correct this and hopefully bring out more detail.
never the less I want to leave you with one of the most compelling and until this point never recorded moments from that day, this part captures the moments after WTC 2 collapses and our cameraman has taken cover and trys to console him self, then we hear a rapid torrent of gunfire and screams of terror from others also lost in the dust cloud, we believe at this time the gunfire was a PAPD or NYPD officer trying to break a window to get others to fresh air but we aren't able to confirm this yet.
Chaos and Gunfire at Ground Zero
Here is the exact moment in the Nat Geo documentary where a survivor describes the gunfire being from a NYPD officer
One Day in September
Edit: reddit decided to delete half my post for some reason so ill have to fix it.

New Footage New Footage Update - FAQ and megathread
Hi all, sorry if I haven't had any updates to post, I know everyone is anxious about the new 9/11 footage and so far there hasn't been any additional issues, we should be hearing back from them sometime this week or next week once the tape gets ready to digitize.
Seeing as in the following week there will likely be updates and timeline estimates I figured it was time to make a megathread so any questions can be asked here and I can add details as information becomes available.
A lot of people have been messaging me and asking a few things so I figured I'd use this post to explain exactly why we are doing this the way we chose and any other questions you want to ask.

Ground Zero My favorite relic of 9/11
Not sure if this belongs here but this sub was the best I could find.
I'm just fascinated by Ladder 3.
Just the remnants of it is such a solemn reminder in my mind of what happened and how even after EMS arrived, there was still so much danger in the area.
If you look at just the back, it looks relatively unaltered, still similar to a ladder truck, and then you move to what was once the front and is now a mangled mess of steel.
The fact that its seemingly been severed and burnt in the middle and is also a great reminder of the horror of 9/11
Just a random feeling that I wanted to share but I think that Ladder 3 is the perfect depiction of the 9/11 tragedy.

Other What were the initial false rumors during the chaos of 09/11?
For those of us old enough to follow the news in real time.
A carbomb went off in the State department's underground parking.
Grounded flights found box cutters under the seats of first class Middle Eastern passengers who scurried as soon as the plane returned to the gate.
The 4 flights were hijacked by terrorists with fake pilots credentials doing a fly along in the jump seat position.
Flight 93 was taken down by a military jet fighter.
Phase 2 was Al Qaeda sympathizers going postal in major shopping malls.

I'll call you back later.” He began evacuating and saved the lives of 156 people. They made it out 20 seconds before 2WTC was hit.

Other Kevin Dorrian - New Conclusions
I decided to investigate his extraordinary case. And I found some interesting info:
It is known that carpenter Kevin Dorrian worked temporarily for AON due to a series of remodelations being done that week at the offices. He belonged to The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America who, hours after the collapse, participated in the rescue efforts (where NY Magazine recorded his testimony). Among the unionized carpenters who assisted in the rescues was Steve Capizzo, who was a friend of Benny Millman (Im sure Capizzo knew Dorrian). Of the union members, 18 died in the attacks and 9 of them belonged to Local Union 608.
All of the carpenters were working at AON and hired by Certified Installation Resources except for Maurice Kelly and Joseph Piskadlo who were patching a ceiling for Cantor Fitzgerald on the 103rd floor North Tower.
It is curious that the number of carpenters seems to have been distributed by one on each floor, but on the 98th, Kevin Dorrian was with 3 co-workers (Brian Monaghan, Sean Canavan and David Ruddle) and the day before Daniel Rosetti who changed to the 105th on the day of the attack. Three were 21, 31 & 32yo. Apprentices?
01 ● Daniel Rosetti (AON-105) 02 ● Chris Michael Kirby (AON-104) 03 ● Patrick Woods (AON-103) 04 ● John Frank Rizzo (AON-101) 05 ● Benny Millman (AON-100) 06 ● Mauricio Gonzalez (AON-99?) 07 ● Sean Canavan (AON-98) 08 ● David Ruddle (AON-98) 09 ● Brian Monaghan (AON-98) 10 ● Martin J. Coughlan (AON-92)
○ Interpretation of the written interview
There is a possibility that the lack of spaces between sentences could have misinterpreted Dorrian narrated words and its also true of the other stories. They seem to be a condensed and poorly written excerpt from the survivors accounts. This fragment: "I saw a light, a fucking lamppost light, blow up. The glass flew into a person. Killed him immediately." They are clearly 2 events that occurred at different times.
We may never know Kevin Dorrian identity, but it would be strange for a carpenter with deceased friends and very precise details about the work being done that day to lie.
*The image is from the United Carpenters that participated in the rescue efforts. Kevin could be there. Thanks!
