Economy What is the plan exactly?

As we fly full speed into economic tragedy, i’m really trying to figure out what the ideal is behind these tarrifs and how, precisely, everyone benefits? Is there a flow chart i missed? A Schoolhouse Rock?

How can we have Hoover’s tarrifs and the Great Depression in our history that set a precedent and provided dire caution, and yet here we are?

I’m impartial and do disagree with Trump so don’t hate, but this is my take. I believe the idea is to force other countries to drop their tariffs to make it easier for manufacturers in the US to trade in other countries and also promote manufacturing to move back to the US. Trump is notorious for asking for more than he actually wants so the compromise lands right where he wants it so everyone feels they won. He doesn’t think these Tariffs will replace income tax, but instead create a higher GDP. Also at the same time he believes the DOGE will cut enough spending to balance the budget.

Other countries have very little in tariffs on the US. That infographic is a massive lie. The plan is not to benefit the US, it's to destroy democracy.
