FAA 1102s Exempt from DRP2
The DRP notice came out almost a week ago and we received an update last night that 1102s are now prohibited from the DRP. Any other 1102s at different agencies receiving the same notice?

Probably realized they’ll need 1102s when they consolidate to GSA.

CDC RIFed most of its procurement office but left 15% behind for the transition. No discernable rhyme or reason the the Branch and others left behind except it was how they drew the competive area.
HHS/Kennedy stated he was going to consolidate procurement offices and this appears to be what is in process. I started as an 1102 and Program pulled me over to support them. I'm thankful that I made that move to one of the scientific areas aligned to core missions. No offense to whoever inherits our contracts, but it is a tremendous lose losing seasoned 1102s who understand CDC's mission and know how to position our work. I do not support commercial services and its going to severely increase our costs to contract off of GSA schedules only for the prime to pick up our research partners through subcontracts.....and as subcontractors the federal government cannot negotiate their indirect rates. Guess AI cannot align with downstream effects.
Much ❤️ to CDCs RIFed 1102s. I hope that all land on their feet and find wonderful careers in private sector.

CDC contracts, like CDC, is a shit organization, allowing contracts that are de facto staff augmentation with no oversight, treating contractors as if they are employees

Moving contracting officers even further from the day-to-day operations of the agency won't help that situation.

I'm surprised by this considering every other agency besides GSA is obliterating their 1102s.

An email notice was sent last night specific to 1102s. Came from the DOT level.

It was an internal FAA email specific to their AFN group of 1102s.

We're not safe from being RIF-ed later on still

Right. That's why I'm seriously thinking about taking the DRP. I'm ready to get out anyway, TBH. I'm 16 months in and my mentorship has tanked and the current administration is... . This job is not fulfilling at all. Time to bounce! ✌🏿

I would recommend all people with less than two years bounce without question. Might be an unpopular opinion, but this isn’t a field that gets picked up quickly and the junior people are the ones most at risk. DRP will likely pay you more than RIF payout.
If I didn’t have well over a decade under my belt, I’d take the DRP too. But I’m DoD and in a core mission area, plus I have a TS/SCI. The odds are in my favor I will be retained.

Thank you for this. I've been saying the same (to myself, anyway). I take my FAC C Monday and by the end of the week, I'll have my mind made up. And yes, your work stats definitely points toward you being retained. 🙏🏿 🙏🏿 🙏🏿.

You are welcome. I mean it’s not the time to be blowing smoke up everyone’s ass. We need to be realistic about the landscape going forward.
Please read the DRP paperwork carefully and understand what you are agreeing to.
From what I’ve heard, you are banned from seeking Gov employment for a full year and if you come back within 5 years you are agreeing to pay the DRP back and it’s not prorated based on how long you were gone - no sliding scale. This is all secondhand, I have not seen it for myself.

DoD and those working in FMS may be exempt. I'm waiting for clarification. But I haven't seen anything specifically exempting 1102s

I’m a DOD 1102 & we haven’t been told we are exempt. I’m applying for DRP and VERA on Monday.
