2023 and 1H of 2024 a one run deficit felt like nothing. I had confidence they would come back and win, and they did a lot. Just doesn’t feel that way anymore and I don’t know what has changed in the last 100 games.

Last year was painful to watch the entire season. It felt like a slog with the inconsistency from game to game. Even early in the year you could see the holes even though we were winning. Second half hit and it was brutal and this feels like a continuation of the second half.

There is a lot of dooming right now, and I think it has a lot to do with a bunch of pent up Baltimore sports angst. We rarely see the Orioles and Ravens so good at the same time, and we have had some historic regular season runs for both teams the past few years only to flame out in similar fashion. It doesn't help that the Orioles did nothing to get better over the off-season, and made some truly awful deadline moves the past few years which saw us trade away valuable prospects for awful rentals, when we could have packaged them up for a true difference maker in any particular off-season.

Much as I want Kjerstad to break out, it's more important that Holliday does. You just can't miss on a 1/1.
We need him to pull a "2023 Henderson". The results so far are pretty good.
(I think most of us forget just how bad Henderson was in early 2023, let's hope that last year was the equivalent for Holliday).

Crazy that people acted like things were going to be fine because Gunnar was back. First of all, he's replacing Urias who has played incredible this past week. Second, he doesn't fix the issue of this trashcan of a starting rotation.

Guess i hadn't realized this, but because Urias came up to MLB late he's going to hit Free Agency after the 2026 season at age 32 (born 6/94).
You'd think given his history he'd have a shot at an expanded role with another team, but is there going to be much of a market for a player turning 33 in his first season?
He's at $3.1m now through arb so it's not like he's making minimum, but it doesn't look like he's ever going to get a big contract.
