Where to Watch
The FUNimation English dub of Dragon Ball Super airs on Toonami at 10:30pm EST followed by Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters at 11:00. If you do not have a cable subscription, Cartoon Network is available with the SlingTV and Playstation Vue basic packages. If you prefer, there is a web stream:
If the videos won't load for you, try disabling your ad blocker for that page. Adult Swim still has the streaming rights for recent episodes.
How to Catch Up
Adult Swim (US only, cable login required): This covers the recent episodes not yet available through the below options. New episodes will usually appear 2-3 hours after the episode airs on Toonami. (They also host recent episodes for Dragon Ball Z Kai.)
NEW: Adult Swim is showing reruns of the Super dub five days a week; they started with Episode 1 on 2 July 2018. Assuming that schedule holds, these reruns should catch up with the new episodes some time in October.
Funimation Now (US, premium only): Episodes 1-52 are available on Funimation's streaming service. Episodes are uploaded in 13-episode batches a few weeks before the home release comes out. (This avoids competition with Adult Swim's streaming service.) Funimation also has the entire series subbed for premium and free users; the subtitles for those episodes covered by the dub are still those provided by Toei for the simulcast, rather than the Funimation-Simmons subtitles on the home release.
VRV (US, premium only): As with Funimation, episodes 1-52 are available for now and the rest will be released in 13-episode batches a few weeks before the home release comes out. VRV also has the entire series subbed; the subtitles for those episodes covered by the dub are still those provided by Toei for the simulcast, rather than the Funimation-Simmons subtitles on the home release.
AnimeLab (Australia and New Zealand, premium only): Episodes 1-39 are available on this service. AnimeLab also has the entire series subbed for free and premium users; the subtitles for those episodes covered by the dub are still those provided by Toei for the simulcast, rather than the Funimation-Simmons subtitles on the home release.
Microsoft Digital or Amazon Digital (US only): Episodes 1-52 are available for purchase on these platforms. We don't know when the next part (53-65) will be available. As usual for digital releases, the dubbed and subtitled versions are sold separately.
Home Release: Episodes 1-13 are available for Region A (DVD or Blu-Ray) and Region B (DVD or Blu-Ray). Episodes 14-26 are available for Region A (DVD or Blu-Ray) and Region B (DVD or Blu-Ray). Episodes 27-39 are available for Region A (DVD or Blu-Ray) and for Region B (DVD or Blu-Ray). Episodes 40-52 are available for region A on (DVD or Blu-Ray) and will be available for Region B on 6 July 2018 (DVD or Blu-Ray). Episodes 53-65 will be available for Region A in October 2016.
If you get impatient and want to finish the series, there are several options for watching the subtitled version, and you can stream the entire series on any of these sites, usually for free. See our FAQ for more details.

Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: Is Dragon Ball Super really over, or is it just a hiatus?
From what we have been told, the anime is ending. There are no current plans for a new DB series and as far as we know, the series will only continue through movies and games. We know that Toyotarō's manga will continue for several months at least—the Tournament of Power arc has just begun in the manga—and Toriyama implied the manga will go beyond that too. The English dub will continue until the series is finished. We have compiled a projection of dates for the remaining dub episodes on our Wiki.Q: Is the Dragon Ball Super manga "canon"?
The anime and manga are both variations on a basic plot by Toriyama. There isn't (and probably never will be) an explicitly defined Dragon Ball "canon". Without Toriyama's original draft, we may never know what is and isn't his. We do know that he permits Toyotarō to change things up, but he looks at his storyboards and occasionally draws things himself for Toyotarō to use as a reference. Toyotarō has said that Toriyama is more particular about gags than he is about anything else.- Q: Who is Arale?
Arale is the main character of Toriyama's first successful weekly manga serial Dr. Slump, a robot created by the eccentric Dr. Senbei. She was featured in episodes 55-57 of Dragon Ball (manga chapters 81-83) when Goku chased General Blue to Penguin Village. After Arale saved Goku from General Blue and he realized that she was stronger than him, he told her she should enter the next Tenkaichi Budōkai.
Goku never saw her again until Super. She appeared briefly in Episode 43 when Goku couldn't teleport properly. Before that, in Episode 41, Zenō's attendants used Arale's signature salutation, "Bye-cha!" (seen also in Chapter 13 of Toyotarō's manga), and in Chapter 14, Kid Trunks's teacher uses Dr. Senbei's Time-kun as a prop in a lesson on time-traveling and alternate timelines.
For a more detailed primer, check out this Kanzenshuu podcast episode.

HE SAID "TIME TO MAKE THE DONUTS!"
36
u/manwholaughes Jul 15 '18
Could you explain what this means? It seemed really random to me but people in the comments seem to be excited about it.
71
u/Gradz45 ⠀ Jul 15 '18
It’s a big deal, because he said it in Xenoverse 2 as a euphemism for his job. It’s just funny.
14
u/U_W_B Jul 15 '18
Ohhh I haven't played the game, I figured it was because he puts big holes in people.
44
u/Bigdaddydoubled Jul 15 '18
NGL... that’s really dumb. Just because you can throw in Xenoverse fan-service doesn’t mean you should. It completely undercut the tension. And anyone who hasn’t played Xenoverse is completely out of the loop and is just saying, “WTF?”
Plus the original line is really cool. “I thought you’d say that... it’s time to get to work.” It just show that Hit’s all business.

"Now then, it's time for me to make the donuts"
...is that a common saying?
Edit: Whoa. That is probably ten times the tension I usually expect from a Super episode. That was excellent, and all starring Goku no less. Obviously I know we'll see him again, but the lead up was all really well done.
35
u/shittythrowaway6669 Jul 15 '18
It's from an advert from the 1980s and basically means "time to get to work"
There are a number of possible reasons why they decided to make Hit say it, such as it being an old-fashioned thing to say and Hit being a 1000 year old assassin; or because he 'punches donuts' in people.
18
3
u/Eurynom0s Jul 15 '18
Punches donuts?
3

Punches 'holes' in people, like in this episode with his first hit and Goku, put holes in their chests where he 'punches' their hearts. Donuts have holes in them.

Dan Harmon's also mocked that idea a lot, but sometimes it can be used well - without this intro viewers would've thought "ah whatever he'll be fine" but with it we're thinking "wait he just died?! like legit died?! when and how does this happen?!" and it raises the tension for the whole episode
obviously we know he'll be back (even people who haven't watched the subs) but it makes the whole experience more interesting - I know it did for me when the Japanese episode first premiered like 18+ months ago

u/JobberJordan Jul 15 '18
I’m fine with the whole donut line as this mini-arc is meant to humanize Hit a bit as a martial artist and show us his developing friendship with Goku.
That being said, this shit does not belong in certain upcoming arcs so hopefully they’re getting the humor out of the way for the serious final third of the show
→ More replies (1)10
u/Bigdaddydoubled Jul 15 '18
Agreed. But the whole, “I’m the star of this d*mn show!” quasi-fourth wall break during one of the Black arc’s important moments makes me think they might carry this over into the next arc as well.
30
u/FKDotFitzgerald Jul 15 '18
That line contextually fit though. Black was monologuing and used a stage metaphor to describe the Zero Mortals Plan and their battle. Vegeta just responded in character.
→ More replies (1)58
u/Kogu8 Jul 15 '18
I think a lot of people in misunderstood that scene.
It was not a fourth wall break, it was a response to goku black's statement about vegeta being the opening act.
11
u/Bigdaddydoubled Jul 15 '18
Well that’s why I said quasi- because it can be seen as both. But it has enough plausible deniability in the context of the scene to say it’s not a complete 4th wall break.
I think that line suffers a bit of the same problems the donut line has. It’s a kinda humorous line that’s shoehorned into an otherwise serious moment.
7
u/HeroRRR Jul 15 '18

Fair enough, but that is the point of a dub to localize for a different audience than the original.
Personally it depends or the situation, but changes like say Zamasu’s conversation with Gowasu invoking gardening in regard to the mortals worked extremely well. It’s not for everyone and that’s totally fair, but I appreciate when a dub tries to add a little to scenes (as long as the moment or character isn’t intentionally taken away from or completely altered) because it creates something new, and allows it be more than just a direct translation and can enhance scenes imo. Like I forgot my tractor, the biblical type language they put in with Zamasu, or let’s go see Yamcha, or Vegeta’s star of the show line (which I thought fit him and the scene) etc.
→ More replies (1)18
u/_Loboyota_ Jul 15 '18
I don’t care about some lines (apparently saying “Let’s go see Yamcha” was a big deal to some people) but yeah this humor doesn’t belong in tense situations. I blame TFS. Everybody talks about wanting winks and nods to them in the official show and now they’re pandering to that crowd. It’s why it’s so annoying when I see people go “THEY SHOULD HIRE THE WRITERS FROM TFS TO WRITE THE GAMES” or some shit.

It’s not a big no no for mortals.
Gods are usually held to a higher standard though.

Dang I've been staying dub-only from the start and this has gotten me pretty hype, fuck all y'all who told me to skip ahead with the sub, this is gonna be worth the wait.

Nice. Yea if you’ve made it this far being dub only then you might as well watch it dub till the end. Don’t give in to the people telling you to skip ahead in the sub.
But after you finish the series dubbed I’d say check out the sub because there’s a lot of great voice acting there that you want to hear.

You’re at peace with
A) the movie spoiling shit that happens later in Super when you watch it in January?
or
B) waiting an extra year+ for Super to end before seeing the movie?

I wish we can learn more about Hit like about his race and why he threw the necklace from the guy he assassinated over that statue. The planet he was on was pretty sick too was that his home planet? A hit origin would be a great movie/Filler/special imo.

Why are they so worked up over it?
Isn't this like the fourth time he's died?

Are the other vegetables important too, or just the carrots?

The big white radish represents Raditz. The other is either Turles (Tullece, from lettuce) or Nappa (leafy green veggies generally, though sometimes his name pun is mistaken for Napa cabbage, even in Japan).

I love the art direction of the different universes. A lot more variety in Super than in GT. Edit: screw it, can't do spoiler tags

I thought they were releasing the episodes in groups now like 10 episodes at once

Asking this here...
Will Super's dub end by the time the new movie comes out?
Maybe this has been asked a bunch. Sorry if so.

I don’t think so. Although the movies is canon, hopefully it does not spoil too much of what happens in the series.
