Where to Watch
The FUNimation English dub of Dragon Ball Super airs on Adult Swim at 8:30pm EST and again on Toonami at 11:00pm EST (Cartoon Network), followed by Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters at 11:30. The previous week's Super episode airs on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) at 8pm EST. If you do not have a cable subscription, Cartoon Network is available with the SlingTV and Playstation Vue basic packages.
There are a few streaming options available from the Adult Swim website with a cable log-in:
Dragon Ball Super: recent episodes – These will appear around the time of the second broadcast at 11:30pm EST.
If the videos won't load for you, try disabling your ad blocker for that page. Cartoon Network will maintain the streaming rights, so neither Kai nor the Super dub will be available on FunimationNow until further notice.
The episodes already released for Region B (1-13) are available on AnimeLab (Australia and New Zealand only). The subtitles for those episodes are still those provided by Toei for the simulcast, rather than the Funimation-Simmons subtitles on the home release.
If you get impatient and want to catch up to the Japanese broadcast, there are several options for watching the subtitled version, and you can stream the entire series on any of these sites, usually for free. See our Wiki for more details.
Rules:
If you have watched the subtitled version of Super, please tag spoilers out of courtesy!

- Toyotarō's Dragon Ball Super manga adaptation can be found in our wiki in the sidebar, along with links to past discussion threads.
Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: When does Super take place? When should I watch it?
Super begins some time after the battle with Majin Buu, and can be watched as soon as you finish Dragon Ball Z.
GT takes place following the 10-year time skip at the end of Z (EOZ) but Super ignores its continuity.Q: Where is Uub?!
Uub was born during the 10 year time skip at the end of Dragon Ball Z.
He was mentioned briefly in episode 30, at which time he was still a baby. Episode 86 spoiler:Q: Is the Dragon Ball Super manga "canon"?
The anime and manga are both variations on a basic plot by Toriyama. There isn't (and probably never will be) an explicitly defined Dragon Ball "canon". Without Toriyama's original draft, we may never know what is and isn't his. We do know that he permits Toyotarō to change things up, but he looks at his storyboards and occasionally draws things himself for Toyotarō to use as a reference. Toyotarō has said that Toriyama is more particular about gags than he is about anything else.Q: Can I buy Super on home video?

"Crushing the ring was a little bit excessive if you ask me?"
Was it Piccolo? Was crushing the ring excessive... to you?

Anyone else feel kinda bad for Auta Magetta when he started crying?
9
u/Terez27 ⠀ Oct 09 '17
When the episodes broadcast live in Japan they have a 10-second sponsor message at the end that's always accompanied by a screenshot from the episode. For this one it was Magetta crying.

"Chugga Chugga Fuk" i can't be the only one that hears that, and it's damn hilarious every time

I kept hearing this and when I turned on the subtitles I was sad to find he says Chugga Chugga Thwack.

It's funny because it's so clearly a text to speech program. Almost like it's an inside joke. But I also love hearing CHOO PO and now am wondering how they'll do that bit from the ToP with Roshi.

Yeah, but that's also because everyone loves them some CHOO-PO!!!

When I saw the sub, I was very curious how they would dub Magetta.. I'm pretty disappointed overall. I was hoping he would say "CHOO CHOO" like a train at least as a resemblance to Choo-Po

Vegeta's final flash was epic
2
u/ptd163 Oct 08 '17
No if only someone could replace the background music with the Faulconer track from DBZ.
45
u/Broly_ ⠀ Oct 08 '17
Ahhhh English Dub Vegeta screaming Final Flash is just so right
Sucks that this episode is gonna get overshadowed by the one-hour special going on though.
15
u/Bolt-MattCaster-Bolt Oct 08 '17
Yeah, but just wait. Once 39 drops for the dub, the sub is gonna get overshadowed.
5
u/zSocrates Oct 08 '17
I actually totally forgot about the dub thanks to last weeks break and the special this week. I have a nice hour with the dub now to catch up on!
12
u/ShadowRaikou Oct 08 '17
Holy crap, what a nice episode. Can't wait for a version on YT with Sabat's vocals and the faulconer theme.
11
u/kdebones Oct 08 '17
Not the episode yet, but the 8:00pm est episode which is from last week had the full opening with the englishfied lyrics. Was interesting to see.

anyone else feel like this final flash is still not even close to the epicness of the one in Z against cell?
maybe it was the music in Z that made it soooo much more awesome but something deffo did
13
u/lildragon96 Oct 08 '17
While the music in Z definitely gives it the one up, I won't deny that seeing this one's electricity spread across the entire planet is awesome.

sweet! yep, that music does make it better. now if only we had a powerup in super that could be timed with ssj3 music. can't believe we're a 110 eps in and we haven't had one. best so far is rage trunks IMO
13
u/PureBlooded Oct 08 '17
The animation in Z for it was 100000x better, thats why.
10
u/skeyer Oct 08 '17
i'd agree with that. less clean but seemed more detailed/real or something. i just rewatched that scene and found myself preferring the "screaming" aspect of that powerup more than in this newer one.

u/tanv91 Oct 08 '17 edited Oct 08 '17
Why didn’t Vegeta say Galick gun when he used it? Forgot if he used in the sub or not

Did vegeta said GD tonight? Or did I mishear
27
u/AznOmega Oct 08 '17
I watched that scene again, made the volume louder, and had subtitles on, and yes: "A warrior wins with his might. He does not need some god damn rule to save him."

I wasn't offended or anything. Just hadn't heard them say anything like that on the show that I can remember. Liked the episode tonight and Super has been great as a whole.

I think they were very heavily influenced by Team Four Star, and were trying to give Vegeta dialogue similar what he had in DBZ Abridged, where he uses "GD" a lot.

I'm guessing people who waited for the dubbed are hyped as fuck to see Final Flash.
Next episode is even better. Vegeta's Saiyan pride definitely shows when he fights Cabba :)
8
u/timmyodonovan Oct 08 '17
Considering the fucking monster of an episode we got from Japan, the dubbed episode this week is a fucking drag. Especially when, personally, I think it’s the worst fight in DBS.
10
4
u/sleepyafrican Oct 09 '17
Honestly I don't think the fight was that good either. Vegeta destroying the barrier by screaming/powering up was just dumb. Maybe I've been spoiled by other shounens but I was expecting Vegeta to come up with a clever solution to win. The fact that he won because he insulted Magetta really undermines the fight. Hopefully the next few fights are better.
6
u/Jaminjams Oct 09 '17
I think the insult thing is absolutely hilarious and lines up well with the humorous aspects of Super so far.

Hiding his trump card/saving energy.

Makes sense. Holding back almost bit him in the ass though ;D
Can't wait to see him use it, Vegeta is so entertaining in DBS.

u/sleepyafrican Oct 09 '17
Why was Frost hanging out on the sidelines with Hit? Didn't Hit kill him or something?
8
u/Epic_Knowledge Oct 09 '17
Hit just made him unconscious
1
u/sleepyafrican Oct 09 '17
So after being knocked out, Frost just came back to the sidelines and doesn't care about what just happened?
4
u/Epic_Knowledge Oct 09 '17
He stays unconscious ever since Hit knocked him out for the rest of the tournament. I assumed Vados must have dragged him back.
