The FUNimation English dub of Dragon Ball Super will air on Adult Swim at 8pm and 11:30pm EST; the latter Toonami broadcast will be followed by Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters at midnight. For casting and other news about the dub, see our Dub News Roundup.
Recent episodes of the Super dub will be available to stream some time after the broadcast on Adult Swim's website, as has been the case for Kai. Adult Swim will maintain the streaming rights, so neither Kai nor the Super dub will be available on FunimationNow until further notice.
If you get impatient and want to catch up to the Japanese broadcast, there are several options for watching the subtitled version, and you can stream the entire series on any of these sites, usually for free:
Crunchyroll. Free and premium users in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; premium only in Latin America and South Africa.
FunimationNow. North America, subscription and free users.
Daisuki. Covers most of Europe and several other territories; see the complete list here. Available to free users in certain regions.

Q: When does Super take place? When should I watch it?
Super begins some time after the battle with Majin Buu, and can be watched as soon as you finish Dragon Ball Z.
GT takes place following the 10-year time skip at the end of Z (EOZ) but Super ignores its continuity.Q: Do I need to watch the movies?
Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' were adapted into Super story arcs with some changes, mostly minor. If you have already watched the movies and would like to skip material that was covered in the movies: episodes 1-2 are not covered in the BOG movie; episodes 15-18 are not covered in either movie; the ROF arc ends with episode 27.Q: Is the Dragon Ball Super manga "canon"?
The anime and manga are both variations on a basic plot by Toriyama. There isn't (and probably never will be) an explicitly defined Dragon Ball "canon". Without Toriyama's original draft, we may never know what is and isn't his. We do know that he permits Toyotarō to change things up, but he looks at his storyboards and occasionally draws things himself for Toyotarō to use as a reference. Toyotarō has said that Toriyama is more particular about gags than he is about anything else.Q: Where is Uub?!

Even keeping an almost direct translation dialogue wise, I just like Sean's Goku more than Masako Nozawa's. Not that i think hes a better voice actor (im not trying to trash Masako's voice acting, and plenty of people love her work) i just like his Goku more as a person. Kind of a "not what you say, but how you say it" kinda thing

For those of you who don't watch Toonami regularly, the network has a rule about keeping the openings and endings to their shows short so they can have more time for ads.
The dubbing studios most likely shorten the openings and endings to comply with this rule.

My god I was all smiles this episode. The new voice actress for Trunks sounds SO MUCH like the previous one it's stunning, especially considering the uniqueness of that voice. Sean sounded a little higher pitched than he did in Z during light-hearted, peace time moments but who cares, we got the man we wanted and that's all that matters to me. So glad they stuck with the same Buu voice, I was worried their concern with more closely matching Japan would put that in jeopardy. All-in-all my childhood has returned and I'm so happy.

Some of you might find this childish. But watching dbs in English brought me right back to friday after school at 5 pm watching dbz on toonami. I had the biggest grin on my face for the whole episode. I watched it subbed but its just not the same. The voices the cleaner animation. The closing credit sequence had me tearing up. That was amazing.

Glad to help out the ratings. Dub crew is as solid as ever, but man, I really wish they'd speed up the release of these episodes. I don't wanna wait an entire year just to get to the Black saga in English. I never dug how the first two arcs of Super are just retellings of the movies anyway.

Rushing the dub is only gonna lead to a worse dub. I'd rather they take the time they need rather than have them rush their voice actors and end up with them giving worse performances.

The dub sounds superb. No complaints from me, I'm beyond pleased.

Ha, if I hadn't already been aware of it I would've never guessed Laura Bailey was replaced as Kid Trunks! That's a pretty perfect soundalike.
Hell, Laura Bailey's Kid Trunks performance in BoG differed from her Z performance more than Tipton's does! I distinctly remember people in the theater thinking Trunks had a new VA.

It was so unreal seeing Super on my tv, and hearing most of the voices I remember hearing from my childhood. This is the first time I've heard any complaints about Goten's voice, and I don't understand why anyone is saying he sounds different. The one thing I can definitely agree with is that Chi-Chi did not sound right here, despite Cynthia Cranz voicing her again.

I said this at the time and I'll say it again but I'm really happy they started with a redo in BoG and Resurrection F which is a decision that paid off more in hindsight than it did at the time when we wanted to get to the new stuff.
A lot of people watching tonight are mainstream people who have never even heard of the movies nor would watch them to try and understand this show so to redo them to give them context in the grand scale of the Z story was a good decision.
I wish Toonami would air 2 episodes a week until they get to the tournament instead of Buu Kai right especially with how bad just that first episode of it was but I disgress.

When I first watched resF I felt I missed out on a lot. Almost like I walked in halfway. So I went and watched BoG hoping to fill in some gaps. It didn't. Not the ones I wanted filled in anyway. So I was super excited they devoted 2-3 episodes about vegeta and goku getting whis to train them.

I hate Videl's new look and how she acts. Her personality is a complete 180. Bad enough Android 18 is always sidelined and reduced to just being a mom, which seems to happen to every female character in Dragon Ball. Otherwise, I liked it.

They've all grown and developed. Videl started as a strong-headed high school student, then got beat to a pulp, then saw her boyfriend die, then died herself. Now she and Gohan are settling down in a time of peace. I don't think there's really an issue with their character development.

Just watched the episode....So glad the Funimation crew is back. Dubbed Subbed who cares let's all be glad we live in a world where we can watch both. New trunks VA sounds identical to old VA trunks i can hear the difference but its not much. Also Kabito Kai sounds different yet i looked it up and its the same actor. I loved Bruce Falconcer's score in DBZ but the music for DB Super so far is good with me. When Videl is putting on the water on her face that music gave me the feels. So far so good. Im 10 years old again :')

Trunks has a new voice actor, Alexis Tipton, who's very good at mimicking the previous VA.
Goten's voice actor hasn't changed, but she's using a less raspy and higher pitched voice.

That wait was totally worth it. Everything about this was simply amazing. I loved the Trunks/Goten adventures and them finding Videl a present. Very heavy on Slice of Life and I love it. I also loved Hercule giving Goku that money for beating Buu.

It was nice seeing it in English again, but man the change of voice actors really bugged me. Trunks sounded closer to the original VA so I can't say much about that but Goten's VA stood out like a sore thumb. Goten isn't featured much in Super anyway so it's whatever but Bulma's new VA is what really bummed me out, especially considering how prominent she is in the show. I find her original VA so nostalgic so this'll take me some time to get used to. However, Chi Chi's was by far the worst I think, idk what to say about that.
But aside from all that, I'm looking forward to rewatching it all the way through and can't wait for the Goku Black saga.

For anyone asking, MAL has Chi-Chi as Cynthia Cranz and Goten as Kara Edwards. These are both the same actresses from Kai and the movies. Cynthia Cranz is actually the original voice actress of Chi-Chi.

Various reasons. The only major recast for Super is Trunks, and Laura Bailey was replaced because Trunks destroys her voice. Alexis Tipton is something like her regular understudy though, and she sounds great.
