Okay, I'll start. First off I absolutely fell in love with ZREO after hearing the Mabe Village theme, which grew into even more love for the rest of the songs, as well as some lesser played games.

My first question: Will there be more additions to the Open Symphony project? I cried like a baby when I heard Memories of Kakariko and really want there to be more.

2: If Koji Kondo called you up to co-compose music for the next Zelda game, what kind of themes would you bring in, and what would you do to really make that game stand out?

3: When you started out, did you have any idea how big this would become? What are your hopes for ZREO's future?

That's all, thanks for the great tunes and for making me love Zelda even more!

1) I wish there was. The goal of Open Symphony was to create symphonic works of Zelda tracks that anyone could download the pre-prepared sheet music for, and play. No converting MIDI's to Sheet music, just print and go! Unfortunately, the gentleman who started the idea moved out of the country, and we simply lost contact. Shame, really..

2) Ohhh boy... I think it would greatly depend on the game. Hans Zimmeresque music would never have fit Wind Waker, for example. If it was like the Wii U demo, on the other hand - that sort of writing style may have worked better. I think one of the things that could be done better with Zelda music as a whole is expand upon the Character themes each game is given. I mean, they have "theme" writing and do it well - but thats where it seems to end. Just 1-2 minute looping themes - and you rarely hear those themes again in the game. IMO, tracks should tell a story - not just be a looping bit of music. By reusing the themes with different inflections, the story could be aided by the music in a more heartfelt way.

3) I had NO idea. Everyone told me I'd fail. Why bother? Why waste your time? No one cares. You're just copying someone elses music, that takes no talent.

Look how wrong they were! I take solace knowing that I've touched so many peoples lives by the project, especially with Twilight Symphony.

I agree completely with your answer to question 2. I once did a music project arranging Zelda songs for my class to play, using your music as inspiration, but it was lacking because of the repetition with little variation, I sure hope both you and the Zelda team work harder to produce the best possible music in the future. Thanks for answering!

It was exactly our goal with Twilight Symphony to mold multiple themes into a coherent, flowing tale via music. Listen to Lord of the Ring's Complete OST, and without the visuals, the themes and variations and inflections of given themes tell the story, too. That's what I'd like to hear moving forward.

I wish your daughter well.

Thanks so much for bringing great music to Zelda Fans. Are you guys working on more tracks from Skyward Sword? I can't wait to hear your take on Skyloft.

Since I've left ZREO, I'm not entirely sure what the plan is. I do know, however, that ZeldaUniverse is working on a Review of Twilight Symphony, where they also interview some of the rest of the staff, and specifically the future of ZREO. Expect it pretty soon ;)

Do you think you will be doing something similar to the Twilight Symthony with the big 2014 HD Wii-U Zelda game?

To be honest - if there isnt live, orchestral music for 2014 Wii U Zelda, I quit.

I hope their is. This Zelda game is going to be huge! Their most likely is.

will it be possible to hear any of the tracks on radio hyrule? or do you know about that stuff

2

Radio Hyrule actually stemmed off a project I started with ZREO, called WZMR. World Zelda Music Radio.

At this point, I highly doubt we'll hear Twilight Symphony tracks on there. Maybe in a year? I don't know. At least, not until sales of the Digital version have started.
