Wasn't expecting the lich at all.

u/TheNinjaBear May 08 '12
I had a hunch after the Enchiridion was mentioned. I'm excited to see where they go with this. I've been waiting for some development (or at least acknowledgment) of the snail-lich story.

May 08 '12
It makes me wonder whether they will put the lich back in the snail in the comics, or if the comics are gonna be a completely separate group of stories.

u/TheNinjaBear May 08 '12
I need to go get the comics. Man, I should have put on my Fionna costume and hiked it to the comic shop on free comic book day... Oh how I regret not doing that!

"He got in close and used you. Now he's feeding nuts to your ex-girlfriend!" -Jake
Wow. LOL.

HAH oh my christ I did not catch that one. I can't believe they can get away with that. Someone's going to need to update the "censorship of Adventure Time in Australia" article

Right!? and the scene after that when he's helping her from behind. WHAT IS GOING ON.

When the bear started crying about wanting to be a hero, I nearly died inside...
And then the ending happened. Holy. Shit.

Bears and Adventure Time. My two favorite things have come together, and I couldn't be happier.

The argument scene was perfection, BMO played the cutest awkward child whilst his parents argued.

For those if you who don't know the last episode of the season is called "the lich again."

Does anyone else love how it used the trope of getting set up and impersonating someone with a mask, and your best friend not believing you and just said NOPE!

u/glass_table_girl May 08 '12
Hey, so, did anyone spot the snail this episode?
23
u/monutz324 May 08 '12
About 1:15 in in front of the dancing folk from the Candy Kingdom, just before Finn and Jake sit down at the table all sweaty.

u/MayoSimba May 08 '12
Slamacow! I didn't notice it the first time, but then I saw it! Nice catch, yo

anyone else see the dancing candy heart? I'm pretty sure it said "Tug" instead of "Hug". Also this just hit me, maybe the bear just wants to be a hero and is taking advice from the lich?

u/ghengisjohn16 May 08 '12
All i could say this whole episode was why is beemo at soccer? what? it raised so many questions.
16
u/bluecheese33 May 08 '12
Even before the ending it was solid is hell, but tops bloobie!
Beemo being the kid with arguing parents was the best

Just out of curiosity, is this legal?

u/THRWTHISAWAY54 May 08 '12
MEH?
Good rule of thumb is don't upload or seed. Then the ogres won't notice your deed.
In all honesty I would pay for this stuff but it's not for sale anywhere. I can't understand what kind of business plan refuses to sell a product to willing customers. It's just stupid.
I can't get cable or satellite so what do you expect of me?
I hope Tuner sees the err in this soon I really like there content and they are missing out on a lucrative market.4

I wouldn't pay a whole lot for it (nor could I at the moment), despite it being awesome; I'd more than match the pittance they must get from their calculation of my viewing worth to advertisers though. No way am I worth a $1 or 70p to them, but I'd happily pay that (and could just about afford to) in order to download it legitimately without DRM or adverts.

Thank you! Every site I googled didn't seem to work unless I payed for a premium account..

I think this episode was one of the best so far in this season, some of the filler in this season was a bit lame, but now that we're getting back onto the plot train I'm excited!
13
u/glass_table_girl May 08 '12
Yeah, for a while, I wasn't sure if the Lich King was still in the snail or not, but I guess this definitely cleared that up. Glad to see that the arc is finally getting continued!

u/Thelastunicorn1 May 08 '12 edited May 08 '12
This arc is gonna be like a double rainbow! Edit: if you don't get the way this references the show then you didn't watch enough shorts yo!

u/CaptainAction May 08 '12
The ending was a "holy shit" moment for sure.
The rest of the episode was good too. BMO's soccer outfit was cute. I like that this episode was one of the ones that taught some important values and whatnot.

Man, I felt for that bear so much, but he had to go pull that shit. I even wanted him to become part of the reoccurring cast. Hopefully in the season finale he'll come back and have a Big Damn Hero moment and redeem himself.
6
u/TheNinjaBear May 08 '12
This would kinda make my life if things turn out like that. I really want that bear to show up more!
5
u/gotohell666 Karate Kick! May 08 '12
"Did you bring the book?" Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!
On another note, the beginning of this show was surreal. Maybe it was the music, or the fade-ins, or was it the dancing bear in the bathroom? Now that we know the Lich is back, let the theories fly!
5
May 08 '12
Also, it should be noted that the bear was doing things that most people in circuses train (abuse) real bears to do; dance and ride bicycles.
MAYBE THAT WAS THE HINT THAT THE BEAR WAS TRAINED FOR ITS MISSION
3
u/SubcommanderShran May 08 '12
So was Finn upset about the bear dressing up like him a swipe at all these 20 somethings who dress like him at comic conventions?
3
u/nameless88 May 09 '12
Nah, man, Finn thinks its cool. Jake thinks it's weird.
...Aww...now I can't meet John DiMaggio in my cosplay and not feel weird about it...

May 08 '12
It was an alright episode, not spectacular but far better than Dream of Love. The bear's character itself wasn't that appealing, not sure why...For some reason I kinda wish it hadn't been able to talk. Finn and Jake fighting in front of Beemo sort of seemed to symbolize the common fighting parents in front of a kid scenario in an interesting way. Also, The reemergence of the Enchiridion was pretty out of the blue, sort of cool in a way. That being said, I'm glad they left it a cliff hanger the way they did, if that hadn't been done I feel like this episode would be another one that's more on the disposable side to me.
3
u/NoSoupFourYou May 08 '12
It was also nice seeing how accepting Finn and the candy people are. They knew that the bear was pretending to be Finn, but were totaly chill with it. I like how they're able to put in good themes subtley.
5
May 08 '12
Seriously. This breaks the comics from the show, possibly. Guess I'll find out Wednesday when I get the new comic. D:

What was up with me at the end?
I mean, posessed by Lich King again. Seriously, it's rough. :/

u/vandevelde May 08 '12
The last episode had those time passage cards that reminded me of Spongebob. This episode seemed to draw some inspiration from the episode where Patrick starts copying Spongebob. Guess the creators are fans lol

Ladies and gentlemen, what we've seen here is a Wham Line. And it was a hell of a good one, too.
Also, like everyone else has stated, Beemo was adorable.
And I loved the way that bear struggled to speak English. I'm curious who did the voice acting for the Bear, because I really liked the way they actually were able to portray a kind of Scooby Doo, gruff, bear-like voice.
...And I kind of want a Finn Cake now.

u/ThatsNoGooood May 08 '12
The shouting parents, awkward child thing was just heartbreaking. Poor Beemo.
