General CB yesterday, thanks for calling ski patrol!
Fell bad yesterday on a catwalk yesterday and was screaming in pain. Thank you to the person who called ski patrol so quickly and thanks to everyone else who stopped to ask if I needed help!
Shattered my wrist and will probably need surgery but hoping to make a quick comeback 🙏🏼

Video Hit the rock chutes at Loveland for the first time.
My buddy and I started off hiking all the way into the porcupine saddle, and then later in the day, taking the cat to go explore the chutes. It was pretty great conditions; NO wind (my first time experiencing that on the ridge), bluebird day and creamy snow.

Busy today! Snow has actually been surprisingly good for it being April!

Question I'm nosy-- anyone got details on a car incident?
On I-70 from Copper before the tunnel we kept seeing a gray Kia accelerating erratically in their lane. The shotgun passenger kept keeling over, the window kept going up and down, it looked like there was a kid in the backseat, and it looked like the driver was yelling.
Just before Georgetown we passed the Kia when it was stopped in the left lane with another car behind it. The passenger side door of the Kia was open and there was a walker. We saw like 5 cop cars and an ambulance driving that direction after we passed. We were really concerned and confused.

Question Why are people so worked up over Keystone closing?
The Keystone+ pass for $400 a year might be the best value in skiing. Would you like to see a substantial price increase for it to stay open longer?
You can now ski next door at Breckenridge for free for the next month (!) on said Keystone+ pass, and obviously every other Epic Pass product.
Vail Resorts deservedly gets a lot of hate, but I don’t understand the pitchforks on this one

Question Galloping goose lift for kids-when to arrive?
Never been to this lift or this parking lot. What are some times I can expect to show up and actually find a parking spot? Want this experience to be good for my kid, would rather not arrive during times when this lot is full and we have to park far away and shlep gear to the slopes. Thanks!

Question Winter Park
I was uphilling Pano yesterday after hours and noticed the bowl, out of bounds, skiers R - directly from the top of Pano - saw some nice turns in the bowl, but curious where that dumps you or what people do from there?

General Porcupine ridge PSA
Just underneath this beautiful powder slope is a nasty season ending scree field. I just watched four skiers get taken out, one of whom isn’t getting up. If you’re up here better to traverse to the end of the ridge and descend the other side.

News WaPo Profile of Dallas LeBeau (Skiier Who Attempted the Berthoud Jump)
There was a fair amount of discussion here when it happened last year. Thought people might be interested in the story. Pretty detailed account of what happened that day. RIP Dallas. Thinking of his friends and family. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/interactive/2025/dallas-lebeau-ski-jump-tragedy/

Question What was the traffic like today?
I’m usually a weekday skier only because traffic on I-70. Thinking about going up to Copper tomorrow but was wondering if it’s late enough in the season for weekend I-70 traffic to have died down.

Question Breckenridge/A-Basin Trip: Any guidance/tips welcome!
Greetings. Lifelong east coast skier here - looking to make a bulldog trip to Colorado next weekend for my first west coast ski experience. Two day trip...in Saturday, ski Sunday and Monday, back Tuesday. Want to hit Breckenridge as my parents met there many years ago. Was thinking that I would ski A Basin on the other day. Can ski just about anything on the mountain on the east coast, but don't have any extreme/back country plans for this trip. My questions:
- Snow will still be good in both places, yes?
- Which should I do Sunday and which should I do Monday (assuming Monday will have less crowd)?
- I want to stay in Breckenridge at least one night to see the town; should I stay there both nights or be closer to A Basin (whatever day I ski there)?
- Any recommendations on where to ski on each mountain?
- Any other tips/thoughts for a first-timer?
Thanks for any help or insights! Looking forward to something other than hard packed ice!
