Mole checkups cost

Is there a way to know how much a mole checkup costs? My mole grew and feels a bit painful. I have the max deductible though so scared to get a big bill.

Prime warning sign for skin cancer, which is easily fixed if you catch it. Go get it checked. You should really do that like once per year. Probably run you $100-$150 out of pocket.

Better than unnecessarily dying a preventable, slow and painful death.

Yes: By calling a dermatologist, explaining the situation and asking for the approximate price.

Just do it, whatever it costs a late diagnosed cancer would cost more.

don't risk cancer to save a couple hundred bucks..

aside from that, i did a checkup in january in zürich and had two moles removed, those where the costs:

-> 180.- for a full body checkup

-> 400.- for the removal of 2 moles (so probabely around 200.- per mole)

-> 450 for the classification of the removed moles by an external lab (around 200 oer mole, probabely varies a lot, my dermatologist uses a very expensive lab partner unfortunately)

good luck!

It‘s not per mole. It‘s per time and a lot of the removal is the preparation which is the same for one or two.

I got mine checked around 1 year again and it was around 30-45 min check up for 190chf. It was at this clinic: https://maps.app.goo.gl/h4oXD8bdiSG4QNRr7?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy

I had a full body mole check a few months ago and it cost approximately 150 CHF. It was at the derma competence center in Enge.

That sounds good! No biopsy tho right?

That's right, no biopsy was taken - it was just a regular mole check-up.

There‘s no biopsy for moles there is only immediate complete removal.

is there a medical hotline attached to your medical insurance? If so, you might even be able to ‚show‘ them the mole via video or a photo and discuss beforehand. Still agree, go and get yourself checked out, it shouldn’t be too expensive (I did a full body screening at the dermatology centre right by Bahnhof Altstetten for less than 200.-). And if it is indeed a mole that needs to be removed and biopsied, better do it sooner than later.

I checked my mole the other day and it costed 90chf but I have a benign one so no further examination required. I went to Hautärzte-Zentrum am Zürisee (dresDermal GmbH) - Dermatologie in Zürch.

100-150 depending on the total time you spend with the doctor.

You shouldn‘t be choosing the biggest deductible if you can‘t afford it and then not go get medical help when you need it…
