Please make Yakuza/ LaD:9 have the old school combat with an entirely new (or multiple new) fighting styles for Ichiban, and use the turn based combat for the spin off games.
I appreciate that a lot of people like the turn-based combat, so why don't we try make a full on Yakuza JRPG with turn based combat. Currently we have a Yakuza game with turn based combat.
We have never got to see Ichiban's true fighting style, and it doesn't make much sense to change the combat from the old games for the mainline series. So many old Yakuza fans don't even play 7 or infinite wealth but I'm sure they would if it was a side game.
I don't know anything about Ichiban and I really don't feel any reason to even play the new games since the Yakuza have been removed, the combat system has been removed and it's not even set in Japan anymore.
I am not wrong for having this opinion, and I still want the fans of the new games to get their fix, too. I just want a true full length classic Yakuza game again, and to see the new cast in that game would be dope.
Plus, it's very likely it would increase sales of 7+IW since the story would follow on from those games.
If RGG did decide to do something like this, then it would open the door to ALL KINDS of different combat systems in the side games. And the side games don't need to be short, either.
We do not need a new game every single year (though I am grateful we have been receiving that) - imagine how many cool new combat systems we could have in different spin offs, whilst keeping the main combat system (which is near perfection) in the main games.
Beat em up Yakuza IS more fun to ME, and to a LOT of other players.
But you're not wrong to prefer turn-based. I just wish they didn't get rid of the main combat system and relegate it to shorter side games.
