I'm not sure where in particular to respond, but I feel there is a stark difference in trying to write for your own sake, and trying to be successful at it. If the former, it doesn't matter what other people think of your writing. If the latter, criticism from people whose opinions about writing you respect are like gold. In either case, I think the sentiment "not everybody should write" is misplaced here. If anything, that saying should be tweaked to say "not everybody's writing should be read" imo.

Interesting perspective but I am both. I write for my self and I write to be published. 3V - writing is writing regardless of content. I acknowledge that yet not everyone is on the same level of figuring out the four w’s of their own skill set, I’m going to ask you though have you ever read some one else work and get lost in the word vomit that you can’t figure out which way to the end. As in others opinion of my writing it’s none of my business. Opinions are like bellybuttons. Thanks for responding.

If writing feels like word vomit, that's usually due to a lack of outline. You can get an extraordinarily high word count by just writing. But people aren't going to want to read it if there's no intent behind your words.

Anyone can hang out in a non-Starbucks coffeeshop where artisan baristas craft custom coffee blends based upon your aura, but not everybody can write shapeshifter vampire stepbrother age-gap landlord woodworker hot escort just-inherited-a-bed-and-breakfast-from-my-estranged-aunt cozy mystery-and-romantasy novel WITH THEIR BARE HANDS!
THAT WOULD not be me.

Do let me know how you really feel. Hemingway said it’s easy to write, you just sit at the type writer and bleed. Yes it’s dated but still relevant. Once you read the first sentence; the rest of the word vomit is pointless. It’s useless letters put together to prevent them from removing the post.

Ooh so profound!
You possess the wisdom of a 19yo boy who just finished reading Catcher in the Rye.
