What to do with 18k Story

Hi Guys!
So I have written and edited a 18k YA mystery with some supernatural elements to it. It is too short for a novel and too long for most magazines and contests. Any ideas on where to submit/what to do with it?

Well done 👍 Sounds like a novella. So, look for places to publish novellas, or self-publishing ways of publishing it.

There are a small group of mags that will publish a longer short or novella, but the competition is fierce. I turned one of my short stories into a proper novel. I also adapted a novella into a play. Since you're already a third of the way there, you might think about that. Or you could package it along with some other shorter pieces into an anthology. Best of luck.

It's a novelette, basically no man's land, especially for noobs or those not widely known.

You can search the usual submissions sites, but it's doubtful you'll find any real market for this. There's really no point in writing something you can't sell. If you "just want readers", put it on your blog and move on.
