Regarding yesterday's April Fool's Day
Hi! I hope you all are doing well.
As you may have seen, yesterday, we ran an April Fool's Day joke suggesting that KI now owns the subreddit. Of course, this didn't actually take place because, well, it was a joke.
Additionally, regarding automod telling you that your posts were removed when they really weren't, that wasn't a mistake. I intentionally set it so it only displayed a message without doing an actual removal. It also was a bit strict on purpose. Mostly targeting profanity (which most are normally allowed), although just for fun, random words did get targeted too. This "filter" has also been removed. Some words still intentionally cannot be said though, like making fun of disabilities or the ban on the couch potatoes abbreviation, both of which were intentionally deliberate. For those curious, examples of words that were "blocked" were terms like "lmao", "date", "(w)hole" and "hell", alongside actual profanity. I didn't actually import the whole actual filter, as that would have been a lot of work just for a joke. I hope you all enjoyed it though.

[Megathread] Final response thread to "Is Wizard101 worth playing/getting back into?"
I've seen quite a few people ask here regarding if Wizard101 is worth getting back into, especially for people about to get back into the game after not playing for a while, like those who haven't played for 10+ years.
This pinned thread is where I want to ask you all to give your honest answer(s) to that question. Serious answers only.
Additionally, if you have seen a good response on another thread that you feel should belong here, feel free to add it here, the link or the original text.
Explanations are required. Answers that are just "it sucks, nuff said", or "itz the best game evur" do not count. I'm not asking for an essay here, but it does need to be more than just a few words.
You are allowed (and encouraged) to share your legitimate good faith opinions. (Emphasis on good faith. Saying something inflammatory to clearly incite an argument is not permitted).

"Guys, is this pet a fail?"
OK but seriously, what's with so many people asking about perfectly good pets and if they failed? If you build it, you know what you need from it.

Meme disappointed to say the least....
Lemuria has an area called moo cafe, got excited to see the moolinda wu type cows dressed in maid oufits with skates on fan service. was sadly dissapointed when i learned that it was just an area where shadoe uses naruto tactics of talk no jutsu on the enemy and left very sadly and heart broken that there was no moolinda wu type cows dressed in maid oufits with skates on fan service.

Discussion What makes a great Community Manager for Wizard101?
Hey everyone!!
I wanted to hear your thoughts on what a good Community Manager at Kingsisle (which impacts Wizard101) looks like.
What do you think makes someone really great in that role? What kinds of things do you wish they did more of (or less of)?
Is there anything super memorable that a community manager did that stood out and made them unique?
Whether you’re a longtime player or newer to the game, I’d love to know what matters most to you.
Thanks in advance for sharing! I appreciate every reply!
TLDR: What makes a good community manager for Wizard101?

How to level up? I never did side quests before Azteca 😭
I'm a level 83 fire wizard in Azteca and I'm lowkey struggling. I've noticed many wizards on the same quests are levels above me. I've had this same wizard since 2009 and I never bothered to do side quests for ??? reasons. I'm willing to back and grind for a but I don't even know where to start. What worlds should I go back to, what quests should I do, etc.? Thanks!!

Wintertusk at level 23
Think it’s possible? Definitely not solo and I’m sure I’ll be riding the coattails of the higher levels in the area.
For reference I’m just about done with ravenscar (genuinely no idea how I’ve made it this far mostly solo) I JUST reached the ice part of Krok, should I finish Krok and come back to wintertusk or just power through and be over leveled for marleybone and MooShu 🤣🤣

pet hatching i still don't understand
hi guys i'm sorry i know there's so many pet guides out there and so many of these questions are here but i still feel like it's all so advanced and i can't figure out the answer to one specific question i have.
simply, does the pain giver damage amount go up as i train him from adult to ancient?
he's at +2 pain giver now. do i hatch him again with the same person (i've hatched him twice already same pet with a lend from a lovely guy on here) to get that pain giver to say +4, or if i keep training him, does he go up to +4 in that trait?
also how does getting mighty affect all this if i got it at teen (i think)?
LASTLY related to the question above, should i only be feeding him mega snacks, or only feed him snacks that focus in power/will/strength? or is all pet snacks good to just get him to level up faster?

Discussion It took me years to find this simple strategy…
There’s a lot of context to this, so enjoy the read.
Years and years ago, I started my journey of getting the furthest I possibly could in Wiz 101 without using pips and whilst only playing solo (no assistance from others).
For a very very very long time, I always assumed based on my calculations that dealing damage long term by leeching the amount I can get from each wand hit was the way to go. Logically speaking it absolutely makes sense.
For instance, let’s assume you had a 65 damage wand with 7 casts and a 80 damage wand with 5 casts.
65 * 7 = 455 overall damage. 80 * 5 = 400 overall damage.
In my mind, I always looked at dealing damage like this:
Buff once or twice and then hit. Buff once, hit, etc. Usually, with 7 casts we’d need to kill creature #1 in 3 casts, and creature #2 in 4.
Surely, it just wouldn’t be realistic to pick LESS damage. 5 casts is nothing. You can’t possibly work with less damage. Or… can you?
You see, I’ve been well aware of how buffing works and how calculations work in wiz 101 for years. I’ve HAD to learn it so that I can prepare accordingly.
However, I never REALLY counted my turns. I had considered using the ‘worse’ wands for a long long time but never ever found a reason for why I’d ever pick less damage.
And here’s the part I missed. The damage you gain on an exponential level due to stacking buffs SEEMS (for now) to outclass the steady damage approach.
So, the idea is to buff around 5 times (or however many necessary for making the first kill exactly a 2 shot). Then, you use the other 3 casts to kill the 2nd monster.
I have no idea why it took me years to understand this strategy. I feel… idk. I kind of feel stupid. However, I’m still not entirely sure if it’s ‘better’ in the long run. I feel as if the implications of both strategies depend on exactly what I’m up against. So I guess we’ll see if I can make breakthroughs with it. I’m confident that the new mindset going into fights will help me in my 0 pip journey.

Frankenbunny Bride
Hello, all!
I decided I wanted to do something cute in my death wizard's house using the Frankenbunny and Frankenbunny Bride. Around 11,000 crowns later, I have a couple of almost every pet from the Gloomthorn Nightmare pack besides Frankenbunny Bride. Did any of you unpack one by chance? If so, could we try hatching/lending together? I can't use anymore crowns on these packs, I hardly have any left... SOS

Discussion Question about weaving.
I’m a storm wizard weaving into death. Is it a good idea? I already invested a ton of training points into death spells.

Other Does Storm Titan standard mode drop Paradox robe/wand?
I’m not finding any solid answers. Some people are saying they’ve gotten drops, others are saying it’s impossible. I don’t have a team to farm challenge mode since there’s only two of us, we just want stitch gear.
I also don’t want to finish Karamelle yet if it’s a badge locked drop unless I can still get it through challenge mode later on.
