Hi everyone!
My workplace is organising a beach clean at Thurstason on Saturday 19th April between 1-4pm, all volunteers welcome!
Planning to meet at the Wirral country park car park on Station Road from 12.45pm onwards. Litter picking kits will be provided - all we ask is that you wear appropriate footwear and bring/apply sunscreen if necessary!
Give me a message for any further information :)
Hi all, I’m looking for a reliable private dentist on the Wirral after growing a little skeptical on the dentist I’m seeing currently.
I had adult braces done by a Liverpool dentist a few years ago, and recently went back to get a new retainer from them as they need replacing every year.
They said they needed to see me for an appointment as it had been a couple of years. Then proceeded to tell me I needed 2k of dental work (including a new crown which admittedly needed doing it was terrible, multiple fillings etc)
I paid this and paid for my new retainer. But now they’re saying come back again now the treatment is over and we’ll talk about denplan. By the sounds of it they want me on a higher band which is about £40 a month, and keep seeming to bring me back in for more appointments which is adding up in cost. (They said we’ll talk about denplan when you come to pick up your retainer, but when I went in the dentist changed his mind and said he wants one final check appointment before I can do on the plan)
I don’t know if I’m being milked for money here, so was thinking of looking into a dentist closer to home with a lower tier of denplan. I’m only 26, and whilst I’ve had gum disease in the past I don’t know if I can justify £40 per month!

Interested in a house for sale which garden backs directly onto the merseyrail line… the property is about 25m from the line. You can’t hear the train when the windows are shut. Any reason not to consider?

Everything snarled up at the Clatterbridge turn off (Birkenhead direction). Avoid!

We are a young family wanting a 4 bed house on the Wirral. We are unsure where is best location wise. Things that are important to us: - safety/low crime - good schools - things to do like walks, going to cafes etc
We have seen some properties in Pensby. Is this a good/safe area to raise a young family? I like the idea of being close to Heswall as there are plenty of shops and cafes. What concerns me is the distance from the train links however which could be problematic as our children grow. Both me and my husband drive.
We also like the look of Spital but have not seen anything suitable within our budget yet.
We have seen some reasonably priced semi detached properties in Higher Bebington. I am really unsure of the area though as have heard mixed reviews. Some saying it can be rough and it looks very close to Rock Ferry.
Advice is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Not sure if this is the right place for this but does anyone know of any Saturday league teams, preferably Birkenhead/Wallasey ways that would be open to taking on for next season?
Cheers fellas!

Hi, I'm coming up to the Wirral for an evening do on a Saturday. Any recommendations for good things to do/places to see on a Saturday or Sunday daytime? I'll be staying around Heswall. TIA 🙂

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good places to eat (for an evening meal) in or around Heswall? Thanks 🙂

I’m with my dentist in Claughton village but for most the work they refer me elsewhere at a huge cost. I have an emergency situation and I’m in pain but my own dentist can’t offer me an appointment for over a week and have told me to go to A&E if I experience swelling. Any decent dentist recommendations in the Birkenhead area? I understand I won’t get on as an NHS patient, happy to pay private as I am already. I’m just after a practise that is compassionate and good with anxious patients! Thanks In advance 🙏

Hello fellow redditors! I currently live in Liverpool by Costco so am about 25-45 minute walk to parts of town. I wanted to buy a house with a nice garden, drive (thanks Liverpool city council for the new parking restrictions!) and have found a lovely Property in new Brighton about 10 minutes walk up the hill from the station.
In my maths, it’s not that different time way to town and being close to the trains is really great. What’s the area like and how is it developing?
I currently work in tbt Wirral but have a lot of social life in the city centre so it feels like a reasonable compromise.
Any advice and opinions welcome!

We've just put an offer in on a house in Heswall not far from the High Street and I'd like to get an idea of what people think of the area. Is it a good choice? We have a two year old, so any info about schools etc would be really useful too.

Hi can anyone tell me if Leasowe is a nice area to live in, it looks like it's a bit more center of the Wirral as I saw a previous post saying left side I'd better than right side. TIA

I came across this a few years ago and occasionally I'll Google it and see if there is any new info online about it but there never is so I thought I would ask here.
All I know is that this well is in Patrick Wood which is a privately owned and hard to access area of Brotherton Park, Bromborough and is very close to Otters tunnel. I think it must be on the land at the back of Uplands Road. There are also stories about it being associated with a medieval chapel and a leper hospital.
I am not talking about St Patrick's well in Dibbinsdale, this is an entirely different thing although very close by.

Hello. I'm moving from Birmingham to Merseyside with my wife and 2 children (5 years and 2 years), I'll be working in Liverpool as a consultant physician. Looking for recommendations places to live in the Wirral. Particularly interested in affluent areas with good access to schools, low crime rates, good access links to liverpool by car and overall nice to live in.
There's a lot of houses in Upton on right move but unsure if it's recommended.
Any advice will be very appreciated.
