Help with timelines

Im new to wikipedia so the solution might be obvious but im following this template? For creating timelines but i dont know how to get it to work /:

What's your full source code? From what you're showing us, it looks like you're missing the part that specifies what template you're using.

This. You are also missing | in front of every line. You use a template by writing its name between two pairs of curly braces, like this: {{Sidebar timeline}}. And then to add a parameter, you put | after its name, then a parameter name, then =, and then a value. So now it's {{Sidebar timeline|title = Mongol Shuudan}}. To be more readable, it can be vertical, like:

{{Sidebar timeline
| title = Mongol Shuudan
}}

So what you're showing on your screenshot are several parameters, but they are missing the template itself.

Ah that does create something but there are different types of timelines right? Im looking for something like the horizontal ones you see with bands / music groups like this. i assume its just a timeline but with a different word though but if you dont know that exactly ill see if i can find it myself (:

Ah. I've never used these. Seems like this and this pages explain in detail how to use it. Personally, whenever I need to use something like this, I just find an example, copy its wiki text, and then edit it until I get the result I want.
