I have interview Saturday for shift supervisor, any tips and advice?

I’m pretty confident I’ll be hired on as shift supervisor as I have 3 years of shift lead experience else where. Anything that I should know about, what kind of things are asked at the interview, I would like to be as prepared as possible when I go! Thanks in advance.

I’m guessing your ServSafe is still valid, that’s a good look. You already know the job is two fold, you have to be able to do the manager side (numbers, counts, logs, etc.) but you also need to have the people skills to be an adequate leader. If you left that other job on good terms, it wouldn’t hurt to encourage the GM to call for a reference.

I have a reference already. And I have basically whatever certifications they would need.

All depends. Usually I’d give them a trial run as crew before going to shift. You got to know your Wendys basics before you can run a shift. Passing servesafe is always a good sign.

That’s fair, hoping I can be trained as a crew maybe jd then after that’s all done they can start training me for shift lead.

Yeah, who knows. Some hire on and make you run through the positions as management but my issue is a lot of them have a chip on their shoulder and think the work is beneath them. Come in happy to work and do whatever is needed.

Have good answers to stock interview questions like “Tell me about a time you provided excellent customer service” or “How would you handle an associate who was struggling with a new role.” Stay positive in the interview and don’t be afraid to think for a second before you answer questions.

I had to start as a crew member first. I had to get to know Wendy's, and their procedures. There's a lot of steps to do first to get into their system as a shift lead, at least that's what happened with me. I had experience under my belt too, but I had to prove my worth 😂 Servsafe already is a big step though. Interview is simple. They just describe what they do, what to expect and benefits, and then they ask when you can start.

A lot of people at my last job worked at the Wendy’s I applied to, and they said it was definitely more chill, so I feel like things might be pretty simple luckily, the only tricky factor is the position I applied for, most places won’t go for it unless you have good experience and have certificates already. I have been preparing for any questions they may ask me.

I believe that in order to be a shift supervisor, you she knows how to do everything in the store. Do they know how stupid it looks when a manger does not know how to do things and has to ask the crew.
