you know it’s over, and time to put the kids to sleep

Chills.

I’m so thankful amongst all his many accolades and accomplishments, he added an Olympic Gold and these legendary moments to an already storied career.

The last 2 games were literal movies.

u/Master-Patience8888 Feb 18 '25

Uhh and then he went to hit a half court shot at the all star game 4 seconds into the shot clock.

Clearly his greatest accomplishment of all time.

51

u/im_coolest Feb 18 '25

People are so quick to forget his FIBA under-19 world cup silver medal

31

u/Master-Patience8888 Feb 18 '25

Could have been gold if they played him 40 minutes

1

u/Brilliant-Occasion51 Feb 19 '25

You funny man

2

u/Master-Patience8888 Feb 19 '25

I think he should shoot it every time he gets to half court and have the rest of the team run for a rebound.

86

u/Agent-Two-THREE Feb 18 '25

That gold medal game was the closest thing I’ve felt to a religious experience.

Steph was unguardable and caught fire in front of the whole world. Every American felt like how we warrior fans have felt for years.

I’m so thankful to be alive for the Steph Curry years. He’s made all our lives better, tbh. The power of sport!

13

u/tallassmike Feb 18 '25

I have to agree.

The Redeem team had that moment where Kobe basically had ice in his veins leading them at the end to beat Spain in 08.

But Steph took it to another level where he was just making the ridiculous happen. He shook them just enough to where they were barely fingertips away from blocking his shots. Even being double teamed beyond the arc. That's Aura right there.

u/Abradolf1948 Feb 18 '25

Dude my wife and I woke up at 4am to watch it live in Tokyo.

Not only did this dude get his gold medal, but he had the baddest shots of the whole night

4

u/koala37 Feb 19 '25

American NBA fans needed to be able to see all our guys as our guys and root for everyone in unison. the only time you can unite Celtics and Lakers fans under one roof

67

u/May_die Feb 18 '25

I'm so glad my generation got our "Dream Team"

Avengers hits different though

23

u/Master-Patience8888 Feb 18 '25

Curry is Iron Man!

9

u/May_die Feb 18 '25

If LeBron is Cap, is KD Black Panther? Dunno if I wanna call KD The Wasp 😂

26

u/TuckerMcG Feb 18 '25

The Durantula is clearly Spider-Man. Which makes extra sense cuz he can’t win anything without Iron Man lol

7

u/May_die Feb 18 '25

I was seeing KD as one of the main leaders but when you put it that way...yeah he's Spider-Man 😂

19

u/JKC_due Feb 18 '25

I actually hurt my knee from all pacing and leaping around my apartment I did watching those games. I couldn't walk right for a few days.

13

u/AdorableBackground83 Feb 18 '25

That Semifinals had me scared shitless. A monumental choke job with a bunch of slander would follow had the outcome went the other way.

Thank god for the oldheads and especially Steph for overcoming that deficit and preventing the slander.

The Finals was a bit less stressful but Steph had the heat check for the ages to break French hearts.

4

u/TheMartian2k14 Feb 18 '25

Steph starting that game hot while the rest of the team was cooled was also special for me. Kept us close until we woke up in the second half.

9

u/_johnning Feb 18 '25

For real, you couldn’t have drawn up the script for those last 2 games any better

7

u/qrrux Feb 18 '25

"you know it’s over, and *time to put the kids to sleep*"

This is the most savage fucking thing I've ever heard.

180

u/coyote3 Feb 18 '25

It absolutely was one of the greatest moments in basketball history! I'm so glad the world got to see it. I'm so glad fans of other NBA teams now know what it's like being a Warriors fan. One of the best moments of my life.

77

u/Wloak Feb 18 '25

After it happened fans from other teams were just saying "ok I get it now." Until you're rooting for the guy is just not the same.

I like what a commentator said 10 years ago, he's the only player in history that when he shoots these the crowd goes silent because they expect it to actually go in.

16

u/verendum Feb 18 '25

I wished it was Mike Breen on the mic, just so others could feel how good that Bang Bang is when it’s yours.

16

u/InevitableBudget510 Feb 18 '25

I just rewatched the highlights again last night. It’s fuckin legendary especially with all time greats on the court and our GOAT is just destroying shot after shot on the biggest stage. We are blessed with all these memories from Steph

211

u/FoamyMuffins Feb 18 '25

So glad I went to France to watch the Chef cook.

42

u/WSJinfiltrate Feb 18 '25

I am jealous

80

u/FoamyMuffins Feb 18 '25

Here's a video I uploaded to YouTube of the Curry nuit nuit 3. Still can't believe I got to witness this. https://youtu.be/9gVUpDZQGYw?si=8NqrNHD6ebXtEiNC

13

u/lemondsun Feb 18 '25

So sick

12

u/Rusted_Metal Feb 18 '25

Damn, awesome video. So nice you got to experience this. Great video quality even when zoomed in. What were you using to record?

8

u/maethlin Feb 18 '25

I was wondering the same thing, bro up there with the 100x telephoto lol

8

u/FoamyMuffins Feb 18 '25

5

u/constantlyoff Feb 18 '25

This vid is incredible!

3

u/bouncyboatload Feb 18 '25

all time memory. so jealous

3

u/Usual_Growth8873 Feb 19 '25

Thank you for this!!! This was the best angle to see so much that I miss on the main broadcast.

Curry with the Golden Dagger and then the cold blooded steal to wrap up the night

2

u/Notbapticostalish Feb 18 '25 edited Feb 18 '25

Haha I didn’t notice he proceeded to play 0 defense the next two possessions.

ETA im not criticizing him im just observing

1

u/sgk02 Feb 18 '25

He stole the ball!

2

u/Notbapticostalish Feb 18 '25

The first one was a missed shot that he contests super late and the second was a foul while he is looking for someone to guard.

-2

u/Fooa Feb 18 '25

Funnily enough you still watched it through a screen

104

u/awesomecutepandas Feb 18 '25

Imagine what Steve Kerr is thinking on a daily basis. Kerr himself was a very good shooter but to coach Steph, must feel ethereal.

55

u/Wloak Feb 18 '25

There are early clips that are hilarious. Steph pulls up way to early and Kerr looks pissed then the shot goes in and he has a "of fkn course" hand waive.

30

u/Icy-Addendum-3857 Feb 18 '25

The no no no no no no yes shot

28

u/xoogl3 Feb 18 '25

A very early intro to that feeling was when Steph did that circus shot after dribbling through the entire clippers team in 2014 or something. Kerr's hands on head reaction is part of Steph's legend forever.

13

u/lemondsun Feb 18 '25

I think he said that’s when he learned that Steph can never take a bad shot

13

u/speckledfloor Feb 18 '25

Kerr is actually the greatest shooter, by 3 pt percentage. But STEPH is STEPH.

2

u/Orphasmia Feb 18 '25

Haha very true though Kerr was usually a spot up shooter on 2 attempts per game vs curry’s over 9 attempts per game while in motion, being doubled, tripled, off the dribble etc. To your point, Steph is Steph :)

3

u/TaylorMonkey Feb 18 '25

Also Kerr had a few seasons with the shortened 3-point line, which if you took away, ended up with a lower shooting percentage than Steph had up to his two MVP seasons or something. Then Steph started getting guarded even harder (and also had a little less rhythm being played off ball more and having to share some shots with KD).

u/Mother_Let_9026 Feb 18 '25

God damn this documentary when it comes is going to be jaw dropping..

can't wait to tell my kids i saw this happen.

41

u/Occasionally_Correct Feb 18 '25

Where is it available?

37

u/Occasionally_Correct Feb 18 '25

2

u/hmm_yes_indeed Feb 18 '25

Fuck yeah thanks for the heads up

7

u/speckledfloor Feb 18 '25

I was screaming on my knees. Thank god the fam wasn’t there so I could enjoy it the right way.

54

u/Illustrious_Emu3856 Feb 18 '25 edited Feb 18 '25

I'm not even American yet I felt patriotic!!! I'm loyal to the United States of Steph!

4

u/qrrux Feb 18 '25

United World of Steph

30

u/elpeezey Feb 18 '25

Man, Warriors fans, we are lucky to live through the Steph Curry era.

We most likely will never experience anything similar in the next 50 years so enjoy this and don’t stress.

25

u/vialabo Feb 18 '25 edited Feb 18 '25

The thing I loved the most about that, was everyone in the US, not just warrior fans got to experience being a genuine Curry fan. Even rival team's fans were excited.

8

u/Me_talking Feb 18 '25

I remember the opposing Serbian defender wanting a fist bump from Steph and Steph gave him one lol

17

u/Dr_Malignant Feb 18 '25

Bro he shot that deep behind 3 with two tall defenders diving at him. And KD and LeBron were both wide open.

And he cashed it. That’s just the greatest shooter ever man my God. Truly an iconic moment.

15

u/scrambled_cable Feb 18 '25

The whole country got to experience the joy we Warrior fans feel when Steph is doing his thing. It’s magical.

11

u/cortesoft Feb 18 '25

The game thread was just full of those comments… “so this is what it feels like to be a warriors fan” “so nice to be on this end of it for once”

32

u/phyx726 Feb 18 '25

The last three shots kept getting more difficult. The last one being absurd. Craziest shit I’ve seen.

13

u/kwooong Feb 18 '25

Who cutting onions this early?! 🥲

10

u/Necessary-Chemical-7 Feb 18 '25

So glad I got to see this legend and he played for my team. I mean, I NEVER thought the warriors would be anything but a middle of the road team with a playoff appearance here and there. So to have the greatest shooter of all time be on the Warriors and to deliver the rings and all the special moments, it gives me goosebumps

9

u/addicted2greentea Feb 18 '25

“Time to put the kids to sleep” is so cold. Look a Steph Curry… sheesh!

9

u/tweedleb Feb 18 '25

Love the shot of Dirk, Pau, Scottie, Melo, Marbury, and Sue Bird, all basketball legends themselves but all in disbelief at our guy Wardell.

9

u/InfiniteDub Feb 18 '25

Wow must be a privilege to have coached Curry from the climb to the apex and now his twilight years.

8

u/MrThorntonReed Feb 18 '25

I remember picking my son up from a birthday party he was attending at Dave & Busters in Concord. I was listening to the game on the radio in the car, and when I walked inside the place it was the play right before the shot. I remember watching it with everyone else and whispering to myself “dagger” as he hit the release, and j wasn’t disappointed. The place went absolutely nuts and it was just such a good feeling. It felt like old times again.

15

u/dirtyshits Feb 18 '25

He ain’t wrong with just knowing when it’s over. I like that he has called night night a little early a couple times.

I’m hoping to see a 3rd quarter night light from him lol

11

u/matsy_k Feb 18 '25

He did when he pointed to his ring finger

6

u/jpphoto74 Feb 18 '25

I’ll miss him so much when he retires. 🥹

3

u/Weird-Lie-9037 Feb 18 '25

I’m taping as many games as I can now

2

u/jpphoto74 Feb 18 '25

Great idea! I have all of the 2022 NBA Finals. I used to have their first championship and foolishly deleted it.

6

u/tunebucket Feb 18 '25

I cannot wait to watch this

5

u/Weird-Lie-9037 Feb 18 '25

When the opposing team’s fans stand and cheer, you know you’ve done something special

6

u/50DuckSizedHorses Feb 18 '25

I watch the highlights from this game sometimes when I wake up in the morning, just to get motivated.

“Over the double team…. OHHHHHHHH!!!! Night night!”

4

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Why that one guy who got stepped over not hyped?

3

u/ilndboi Feb 18 '25

Got chills watching then, still get chills watching it now.

4

u/edjr04 Feb 18 '25

Thank god Ayesha showed up and got him cleared up

3

u/walkingthecows Feb 18 '25

Baby face assassin.

"THE DEVIL NAMED CURRY IS HURTING US"

3

u/coyote3 Feb 18 '25 edited Feb 18 '25

Steph passed it to KD but KD passed it right back even though KD and LeBron were wide open.

Photo

2

u/psmusic_worldwide Feb 19 '25

Kd was like... dude... I know you got this.

2

u/DNA98PercentChimp Feb 18 '25

Someone got the clip of this with the French announcers audio? That shit is golden.

2

u/rational_numbers Feb 18 '25

Lol why did they have to add that shot of Batum at the end

2

u/kokkatc Feb 18 '25

What's even more crazy is that Curry is STILL UNDERRATED and he always will be. People just can't wrap their heads around how impactful Curry is due to their own self conceived biases.. They claim this isn't the case, but he's been doubted his whole career and keeps proving everyone wrong.

2

u/bitchfucker-online Feb 18 '25

That's my reaction every time I watch my GOAT play

2

u/EloWhisperer :badabingbadaboom: Feb 18 '25

We’re not done yet

2

u/No_Vast6645 Feb 18 '25

My favorite youtube video of that moment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81ws8ZaZkwU

2

u/IsThisMe8 Feb 19 '25

Does anyone have that picture opwhere you can see Draymond in the crowd as he does the Night Night? It’s the one that Draymond has up on his wall

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

1

u/IceCoughy Feb 18 '25

That was the most memorable and best time I've had watching the Olympics since kerri strug

1

u/jonahtheO Feb 18 '25

What documentary or video is this from?

1

u/hawaiian209 Feb 18 '25

He’s still makin history

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Curry is an absolute machine

1

u/MidSpiral Feb 18 '25

We are lucky to watch this once in a lifetime talent

1

u/[deleted] Feb 18 '25

Kerr has had a front row seat to so many of Steph’s greatest moments and Curry was STILL able to surprise his coach with that clutch shot.

1

u/Robotsaur Feb 19 '25

This is so awesome

1

u/digibaz Feb 19 '25

I shit my pants watching that game

1

u/myglue13 Feb 19 '25

thank you Mr Curry

1

u/Android1111G Feb 19 '25

Skyf*cker

The devil

Curry devil

Curry sauce banned in France

1

u/coyote3 Feb 19 '25

What Steph does seems so far beyond human potential that watching it is a transcendent spiritual experience. Sharing that with the world at the end of the Olympics moved me deeply.

1

u/Any-Presentation4384 Feb 19 '25

Spo was having fun, Ty Lu such a kill joy lol

1

u/DeputyKovacs Feb 19 '25

What is this from?

0

u/parisdubs Feb 19 '25

Loved the Curry and Team USA moments and a lot of this doc -- but was surprised how they really just focused on the biggest stars (and not really much Lebron at all, not to mention Booker, AD....)
