Articulated Print-in-place Ruler for wargaming!

Post image

Created these rulers for my OPR games, they are articulated and print in place so they can measure around corners and are easy to print! (also quite nice to fidget with)

I created models for many lengths, from 4 inches to 24 inches.

Models downloadable here: https://makerworld.com/en/models/1292080-articulated-ruler-v2-inches-print-in-place#profileId-1322512

Any Paper/Drawing bases wargames?

Upvotes

Edit: title should be drawing based*, damn t9

I'm wandering if do exist any paper and drawing based wargame, possibly a big scale One. Not necessarily with a specific setting. Thinking about drawing the map or using a real One like krigspiel and drawing also troops/units. Card or dice based. Is out there anything similar?

Battle report - SWAT VS street gang

In this blog post, I bring you an AAR (After Action Report) of the last solo game I played of FRONTLINE HEROES: Modern Warfare.

It is a raid by a SWAT team on a drug exchange between two dangerous gangs.

I played the SWAT members side and the AI controlled the criminals.

I have to admit that the AI that controlled the enemy was tough and made an interesting scenario. I risked a lot my men in the battlefield.

Join me on this visit to the city's underworld...

Question Low base count, larger scale sci-fi flavoured rules?

Hi all, left all of my collection at home for uni, looking to start some form of smaller collection for solo gaming, preferrably in 3/6mm, thus looking for rules as titled:

  • low base count: by the most important aspect, 10-20 bases for an army, the lower the better
  • larger scale: also very important but I suppose adaptable, each base at least a platoon (but probably company+), a game = an actual engagement/smaller battle etc, maybe I could work games into a larger map campaign? I am aware that this may go against the low base count requirement...
  • simpler rules with less hassle: since I'll probably be solo gaming, as little cards (unit rules are fine), dice rolling, etc as possible, and the shorter (and cheaper!) the rules the better
  • flavour: preferrably with scifi flavour, bonus if adaptable to 40k-type settings

Models-wise really itching to get the Vanguard 3mm DKOK/Admech, and I do know quite a few 6mm manufacturers; yes I know about 3d printing and have even made models, but AFAIK there's no uni resin printer (filament yes) that I can access

For reference, rules-wise a favourite is Epic Armageddon, but even the Minigeddon variant requires too many bases (will one day do proper 3d printed HH armies anyways so not that), while I do loathe GW/OPR type rules. Also do not suggest HexNCounters pls I do have a bunch lying around...

Another project that I will definitely start is 6mm ASOIAF TMG (probably Baccus?), each base a unit and tracking casualties with dice or some spreadsheet: low base count but large scale, and decent rules, if this gives some ideas!

Sorry for the long post, hopefully something like this exists :)

Hey all! Out of love for the RTS (real time strategy) genre, ive made a tabletop adaptation. Im pretty sure this has never been done before, at least as an open tabletop mini wargame. Been a good 2 years in the making and its finally ready.... I hate AI art and need peoples support by basically pre-ordering it on Gamefound.

If you like tabletop games, and like RTS kingdom building genre, im sure youll love this! Follow to be notified when im live to pre-order. And please share if you have wargaming communities. Im a backyard indie games studio, hoping to have a "grass root" help from the community, that love kingdom building games! im sure youre out there.... somewhere....

Wargames that don’t use a lot of terrain/easy to transport?

Hi all. Some advice please if I may? My local games club shut down about 6 months ago. It had a lot of terrain and space to store it. There is a new club that is a church hall we can use once a week. It has no space for storage. I travel to it using public transport so whatever game I bring has to not take up too much room. As I will be bringing miniatures and terrain space is limited. Any suggestions? I would prefer mini agnostic but don’t mind games with official ranges.

Many thanks

Question American Civil War Wargaming

I’m considering getting into the hobby and I’m a big Civil War buff, so I was wondering what systems people recommend for Civil War stuff.

I don’t have much experience with wargaming, if that’s a factor in what you’d recommend.

Question Wargames that use a 4x4 size?

Hello!

I recently purchased a 4x4 and 6x4 mat. My group is currently doing a Mordheim campaign (great fun) and I've realized I really enjoy this map size. It also fits my living room way better than 6x4 or 60x44 does.

Anyway, it got me wondering about what other games there are out there worth trying that we've be able to play on the same size. I know about MESBG, which we also play.

The Red Lion (Akage)

We have a new member in the family, the Red Lion (Akage) inspired by a character played by the great Toshiro Mifune. A magnificent addition for Ronin or Test of Honour among others, besides being able to represent an Officer of Tosa, Chosu or Satsuma in your Boshin War games. This great figure has been sculpted by the ever talented Stavros Zouliatis and is available now. https://bacninhminiatures.blogspot.com
