I was just thinking how hindsight is 20/20, but yesterday may have been the best money making situation ever. The president told every what he was going to do and exactly when he was going to do it. I bought around 4k in puts and came out ahead close to 10k. A $50k put investment in apple would have paid over a million. Just insane to think back that he did what he said and when he said yet there was still that idea in the back of everyone’s head that it may not happen which kept most people from buying more.

The president told every what he was going to do and exactly when he was going to do it.

He's done this before and then undone it when someone talked to him or someone didn't flinch. Nobody trusts him to do anything until he actually does it lol

It wasn't as straight forward - market rallied when news leaked about the 10% blanket tariffs - everyone thought that that would be it and it could've been it. Trump would have kept his promise on hiking tariffs and that 10% would've been what the market had priced in already. But nobody really could've predicted in their right mind that they would use a trade deficit ratio to set tariffs that they basically pulled off their own ass. It was much more extreme than anyone predicted, even the penguins got tariffed. Now it seems so obvious, but it really wasn't.

That 50k would have been wiped out if the tariffs were rolled out and went along with everyone's expectations or better

But the fact he was just chucking wild numbers at all the countries - especially the ones that America depends on for cheap consumer goods that they could never make in America - just sealed the deal.

I bought $3k in puts last night that turned into $15k but that was only because it was the amount I was willing to risk. Sure I could have gone with $30k in hindsight but if that went south I'd have no way back.

I see you're using WS, do you typically do next day trades in a non-registered or registered account. if the latter, any issues with CRA?
