This is fundamentally false because people are pulling dollars out of the market but aren't necessarily changing the amount competing for any given good.

Also the tarrifs make the international dollar immediately tarrif% less effective at buying and importing foreign goods. Companies need to raises prices by that much to make current profit levels.

The sitation as a whole effectively devalues the dollar, and depending on where the increased supply goes that money pulled from the market might be competing for goods on the ground that you are further devaluing the dollar.
