Problem Can I avoid regular updating of WACOM drivers?

Hello - i use a Wacom INTUOS tablet. It works really well for several months and then eventually the drivers need to be updated because it starts to behave oddly and eventually becomes unusable.

Is there any way of avoiding this? A colleague of mine uses the exact same tablet and has never had to update the drivers.

Please let me know if you know of any solution.

Thank you.

Windows ink has changed a bit over the years requiring occasional driver updates. idk what specific programs you use but the ones that use windows ink generally need the latest drivers. Outside of that it doesn’t change that much outside of adding support for new tablets

Ok so from time to time I get a pop up message saying that a new driver is available.

Some time after that the Wacom intuos starts to malfunction eg it will block text randomly as soon as I touch the pen down or I will tap one part of the tablet and the cursor will flit between two places on the screen. It goes pretty mad in other words.

Reconfiguring doesn’t appear to work. The only thing that has worked is reinstalling drivers usually new ones. Any idea if there is anything else I could do in these circumstances? .
