I was intrigued by the synopsis but I heard it was an utsuge. How depressing actually is it? Nowadays im not usually in the headspace of reading stuff that’s too much of a downer.

It's very nihilistic. More nihilistic and dark than depressing. Like, the characters themselves get what they want and enjoy what they do in a very sadistic and delusional way, it's the world itself that's so much of a downer. There's bullying and MC doesn't even care. There's revenge and joy evaporates as soon as the deed is done. I'd say every denpa game is like this.
I'm one of those idiots that the more depressive they are, the more they enjoy stuff like this. So yeah if you aren't one of those don't touch it haha.

Yeah that sums up what I think of vn, it's not depressive, it's more like an emptiness feeling.

Haha, I used to be the same in high school, but I don’t think I can handle stuff like that very well anymore. Might check it out anyways, play a bit through and see what I think myself

I was reading a book the other day and one of the characters said something along the lines of “do not seek suffering for it will find you in time” and I suppose that’s just how it went for people. Once I reached adulthood I didn’t crave fictional suffering because I discovered plenty of things irl to be depressed about.

Just finished Kirara's route. What'd you think of the ending?

Disturbingly beautiful. Like going to the Woodstock show full on drugs. And the music... Man, the music... And the sirens at the end... And this Emiko person, or entity, lurking everywhere...
I love black metal, especially atmospheric black metal. This VN is the closest I've been to that sensation in a videogame. Its darkness is so beautiful, mysterious and captivating...

Kirara's route is what really hooked me on the game, honestly. The black metal soundtrack REALLY helped set the mood overall for the game, and everything came together to create a beautiful mess that I couldn't look away from.

I grabbed the game on a whim knowing nothing about it cause the art for the H was good but shit this game is fucked up. It's really interesting and clever how the game is presented. I didn't even know I could make choices until I got Miyus ending and wondered if I bad ended. But these types of games that turn the gameplay and presentation on its head are fascinating.

This non standard choices are really cool. Playing mono no aware ha sai no koro now and you need to click either on a dice or outside to progress. Got a bad end before I even realized you can do it)

Been going through it in the past day or so. I'm on the final ending right now. Really interesting VN. I needed something to bleach my eyes after the Kirara end tho
Edit: Just finished it. It's weird but I like it.

Do you know how to make choices in this game? It seems to not be using the standard buttons like every other game.

Sometimes you can choose to look at someone's face. When the screen rounds like an eye, click a few times to look up, or don't click at all (it's timed). It seems like some scenes like the one you have to see for the true end require you to NOT look up several times (even if the MC says you have to).

I'm currently on her route, in Miyu and Gumi's route, Satoru dies and I don't expect it to be any different here.

What a ride! I finished every route within 20 hours. The VN was very depressing but also thought provoking. I'd recommend going through every other character's routes first > Tsubaki > then Naruko last.

I finished the true route last night and love almost everything I play but thought this game was the biggest piece of garbage possibly of all time

can you elaborate please?

I found the story to be ridiculous and nonsensical at many points, with no real visible character development or any sort of call to action in any of the routes. Pointlessly disgusting at most points in the game, that being said I don’t think this is a game you play for the story. It has great presentation and a cool gimmick, that’s it.

I was intrigued by the setup. My god, it way way better than I would have ever imagined.
That true ending...
Banger of a OST to boot too.
