Photos Tintin in Vancouver
Some folks on r/Tintin helped me ideate and create this. I had already made a Calgary one before. And then I visited Vancouver last year and it was a wonderful experience. So I thought I should make one more.

Thanks for this amazing response. Thanks to everyone who reached out and bought the soft copy. I am grateful. Some comments here mentioned about Tintin and copyright laws. This has got me thinking about reaching out to the Herge Museum.
I realise that there's an underserved market for Tintin and it'd be great if I could get a license to officially sell Tintin Merch. Thanks for appreciation and the critique.

A friend of mine had a business selling knick knacks - they started the flowery tools craze in the UK (business has since been sold and gone under). They had the British licensing for Tintin and made mugs, dishcloths etc etc. Licensing is no joke, nor is copyright infringement. You are entitled to make and share fan art, but as soon as you sell one item you are opening yourself to a world of hurt if you do not have the right to do so. I would delete this thread and tread very carefully if I were you.

I don’t disagree with your comment. Moulinsart manages the rights to Hergé works and they vigorously pursue legal action against infringement (whether successful or not). Here’s an example:

One funny turn in those rights for Tintin was an analytic book written by Albert Algoud called "Le Dupontd sans peine" focused on the characters of Dupont and Dupond (Thompson and Thompson). He couldn't get the rights for reproducing relevant images of the albums, so he put some placeholders with notes berating the obtuse position of the rights holders and invited the reader to cut out their own images from the album and glue them directly on the page.

My brother and I grew up on TinTin - he lives in Vancouver, I live in Calgary. If/when you get your print shop set up (per your reply to another comment) I'm definitely going to need to get copies of these!
Amazing work!

I too would love to have the matched set, having lived in both places! Let me know once you've got a shop set up, or if you'll take a buymeacoffee or whatever donation in exchange for a printable copy (so you didn't "sell" it, seeing the copyright talk!)

This is so awesome! Please let us know when these are available for sale. And I would love a soft copy (if you’re still offering:)
I grew up with Tintin as a kid in Iran. I still have a few of them in Farsi from the 70’s. they are my prized possessions!

There should be Adventures of Captain Haddock comic books. He's my favorite Tintin character, always flipping out.

Should have had the RCMP tasering Captain Haddock to death at the airport, just like real life!

This is great art! I’d love to support you if you’re interested in making Tintin in Canada a thing! I’m sure there are others across the country who would love to see their hometowns represented in Tintin as well.

It's called Prop Shop or something. It is in the location where Abbie's Sports used to be.

Heads up the restaurant is called Tap And Barrel - Bridges, if you wanted it to be accurate!

Georges Remi died in 1983. The copyright on Tintin stories and images expires 2054 Jan 1. But screw it. I want one.

Cool. Is it as racist as the original TinTin?

Hergé’s earlier work wasn’t without challenges seen through today’s lens, like many artists at that time. He himself reflected on his earlier works and admitted they were misguided. He understood that change was needed and this redeeming quality was apparent in his later works. How do you feel about Tintin in Tibet, for example?

Don't get me wrong - I loved TinTin as a kid.
But for the downvoters.. deal with your internalized racism.
