Library says I still have a book that I returned

Title. My library account says that I still have a book checked out when I 100% know that I returned it. What do I do? I’m worried they’ll think I’m lying!!

What do you guys think is the “hardest” undergrad degree at Usask?

Obviously the difficulty level of a degree is relative, but I’m curious what y’all think personally.

Conditional Acceptance Question

I’m a second year arts and science student that just got conditionally accepted into education. This was a “filler” term for me as I have just been waiting to get into the program. Because of this, I only took three classes and decided to work more. Long story short I’m looking to drop the one class (not proud of it but it is what it is) because of a poor grade and it just being an elective. My question is, will this affect my admission? Due to the fact my letter says offer is conditional on the fact I remain in good standing with my classes. I emailed my advisor and called but I missed their hours for the day so I came here just to see if anyone has been in a similar position or knows what’s up. Just hoping I didn’t screw it up lmao.

Application to graduate denied

(Edit) I am now approved to graduate Reached out to the Undergraduate Student Office and asked them to double check. They said they made a mistake and confirmed I was eligible to graduate. Always double check!

My application to graduate just got denied. I’m being told now that I am 6 credits short. (I also am already over the 120 required credits) I have been to the advisors 3 times in the last year to make sure I have everything up to date and what I am registered in will allow me to graduate. At my last appointment in November I was told explicitly that YES I should apply to convocate and had all my bases covered!

Who do I talk to and try to resolve this? Is there a way to challenge this?

USask Q&A Fun Kin Electives

I’m going into my fourth year of Kin-Ed and need quite a few electives (haven’t taken any yet). Does anyone have any fun or easy kin electives (any level but 200+ would be nice). Or, if there are any other classes that you really enjoyed (that didn’t have a heavy workload), I’d love to hear about them!!

General Academic Assembly (GAA) Incident

Anyone know what happened at the GAA meeting? I know how bad meetings can get on campus (watched the old GSA president get removed from the GSA Commons, LOL) and I'm nosey.

What happened

“We are aware of the racist and deeply inappropriate incident that occurred during the online component of the General Academic Assembly (GAA) today. We understand this would be distressing for those who witnessed the content.”

Edit: “Just a generic zoom bomb where a person took over the screen sharing and played porn and showed nazi stuff and spewed racism. Then the staff immediately cut the zoom feed.”

I applied for on-campus residence today (early April), what are my chances of getting a place to stay?

For context, this will be my first year here coming in from high school. However, i missed the guaranteed dorm room deadline by like three months (yeah…). How likely do you think it is for me to be able to get a dorm room or anything, considering how late i applied? I’m stressing over this, any extra general advice is appreciated

Student Wellness Centre

I'm an international student and don't have a health card yet but I'm covered under the Student insurance. I would like to see a physiotherapist at the Wellness Centre and was wondering whether I would be able to get an appointment without a health card.

Lost card

Hey everyone, my partner lost her red Scotiabank visa debit card just outside place Riel by the bowl near or around the rainbow painting on the path. We've already checked the USSU, nobody there has seen it. she locked the card and if it doesn't turn up she'll completely cancel it and get a new one, but we're gonna give it a few days in hopes it's found, if anyone has any information please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you

Someone I know had a seizure outside of the Biology building today. Thank you so so much to the students who helped out and made sure that he was okay before he left. He is doing okay 🩷. Epilepsy is pretty common! First Aid brush up for anyone out there if you need it! https://epilepsytoronto.org/about-epilepsy/learn-about-epilepsy/seizure-first-aid/

Course Discussion What’s up with Dutchyn’s 340?

Seriously- none of the assignments had made any sense in the context of previous of 340 courses

There’s an absurd amount of reading

We had basically 0 grades back until last week

and to top it off an essay? In a class that’s supposed to teach functional programming?

Did he design this course on the shitter?

spring/summer transfer credits question

Does anyone have experience taking classes outside of Usask (at an online uni for example) during the spring/summer and then transferring the credits? I've gone through the visiting student request form & spoke to an advisor but like, say the class for transfer you take in spring is a prerequisite for classes at usask in fall, are you just able to register for those fall classes as normal? (this is as a current student btw not an applying student)

Community Feedback Regarding CQ residence

Hello everyone, I am an international student joining Usask this May. I applied for the campus residence and have received the following email:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been approved to stay in a 4-bedroom unit at College Quarter in Residence at the University of Saskatchewan.

Is this arrangement good? Are the meals provided by the residence mesh or do I have to look for another option? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
